  1. I never had any problems whatsoever telling Tim, Dick and Bruce apart when Daniel was drawing them. I know that other people did, though. Funny how art is so subjective like that. As for Tan scoring points for drawing a Batman that looks like Dick…I think that half the time the panels are SO dark and shadowy, and the perspective so skewed and off-kilter, that it’s hard to discern what Tan’s character models are, period. On the other hand, it’s not like I thought Batman looked un-Dick-like here. . . . I actually liked Tan’s Green Lantern work okay, but this issue seemed really sketchy, dim and dreary to me. To each his own, though. Around the sites I go to, like 80% of the people LOVE the art on this issue. That really surprises me. Not that I hated the art.

  2. Yeah, but I feel like a hard-boiled batman detective story about revenge should be sketchy, dim, and dreary. It really is a matter of opinion when it comes to artists. I’m gonna go back and look at Daniel’s Rip stuff…I might have been overly critical!

  3. Also, I just realized that the mutant thingy at the end was actually oswald cobblepot ….that is one unrealistic penguin, but again, only the first penguin panel bothered me….art is so subjective!
