At first I was disappointed when Damien’s fight with Jason was over after a couple pages. It reminded me of the fights in AVX: Versus in which there isn’t a definitive winner, someone is just knocked down and the winner leaves after saying I won. Though the final scene after the fight is over is great and quite funny. Speaking of funny, the guy with the batarang in his head is pretty funny in this issue. Peter Tomasi brings up the awesomeness in this issue. These guys branding bat symbols on civilians chests is absolutly great. Not for the people in the story, but we’ll all laugh when months from now we see someone with the bat symbol on their chest. Patrick Gleason does great artwork in this issue as well and I loved the buildings with burning bat symbols on them. Good Dark Knight references. What I found very cheesey about this issue was Batman yelling at the sky towards the end. This is my favorite issue from Gleason and Tomasi thus far.
Art: 4 - Very Good

I agree Batman yelling at the sky was pointless and cheesy, but I can forgive it based on the fact that this book strikes me as the Batman book you aren’t supposed to take overly seriously. Honestly I couldn’t feel too bad for the people who were branded with the bat symbol; painful yes, but that’s about the most awesome fucking burn scar you could possibly have.
