I don’t know what to think here.

It is a great story. But why was this not the Final Crisis story? Or the end of Batman RIP story? That whole affair was, again, great story, but the end just left a bad taste in my mouth. In retrospect it was a mistake to attempt to weave the two stories together. In retrospect, it probably makes a lot more sense from a trades standpoint. There you can re-write history. The ‘missing parts of the story’ can be added. Whenever you see something quoted like that you know some devious shit has occurred but I don’t mean it like that here. Good for them for focusing on that market, if that is what this is. Someone reading the trades a few years from now might not be as offended.

Caught up in both storylines at the time I remember being let down, sincerely, when Final Crisis ended and RIP ended and there was no big point, no connection between the two events which seemed to justify the sort of cross-pollination alluded to. I don’t know. Maybe, after this is over, I will dig out RIP and Final Crisis and read it all together.

Or just move on and tell another story?

Soon, some wise soul at DC will realize no matter how many times you pair Tony Daniel with Grant Morrison I will not follow Mr. Daniel off to another Batman book whence he and Mr. Morrisson do again separate. I am here for the Grant Morrisson and Batman and Sometimes Robin Show. And I may be there for the Peter Milligan Show. But that’s it.

Oh, I was here, also, for the J.H. Williams and Greg Rucka and Jock and Batwoman Show, but someone else at DC decided that show wasn’t going to show anymore.
