Great stuff. Snyder is a pro at pacing. We get our first encounter with pre-Joker Joker–as leader of the Red Hood gang (nice homage to the Joker’s original origin).

Capullo might be the best visual storyteller in comics right now (tie between him and Francavilla).

Other zero issues so far have felt insignificant at best. (looking at you Animal Man, Swamp Thing, GI Combat)

Here, Snyder makes the “pre-52” story INTEGRAL to the next arc. That’s crackerjack storytellying folks. (Aside–Batwing #0 was quite good).

The backup story was a nifty entree for Dick, Tim and Jason. Quite clever actually.

Clarke’s art has a similar style to Carlos Magno who did the Planet of the Apes monthly–a good similarity.

Snyder et al prove again why Batman is the best book on the market (arguable, I know).
