After a luke-warm response to issue 1, this was definitely a “make it or break it” issue. I’m pleased that it made it.

We learn a lot in this issue about Barbara, both as a fledgling superhero and a person, as well as Mirror, and it almost entirely happens amid fast-paced action sequences, which minimizes the “we’ll tell you what’s going on now” exposition sequences that many #2 books seem to be experiencing.

wow. that was a long crazy sentence.

Anyway, my point is that I dug it and I’m looking forward to more next month. The art seems to be fine, not as jaw-dropping gorgeous as Batwoman or Swamp Thing (or even Demon Knights for that matter), but the strong writing in this issue will me hooked for a while.
