Ok here’s where I’m at. I like Spider-Man. Only I like Spider-Man from the eighties in Secret Wars. Or Spider-Man from the nineties in the Mcfarlane run. I havent read much more than that if I’m honest though here and there you absorb a lot of the mythology of the character anyway sometimes so much you feel like you have been reading it forever. So this makes this book all the more special for me right now because deep down I love the character and his world, just not what has been done with it a lot of the time.

If you’re not reading this you should be. If you like fun superheroes you should be reading this. If you like a great combination of a story that feels important to the world of the character , the Marvel universe as a whole and art that suits it to at you should be reading this. Joe Kelly manages to pull off a story that does all that I’ve mentioned with moments of knockabout humour, heartfelt emotion, sinister menace, and respect for the history of Spidey and his supporting cast without getting bogged down in continuity.

I love this. It’s everything superhero comics should be.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
