Okay, so there's this big reveal at the end. Get this: the "punk-rock" hunter chick who's been after Spider-man this arc? It's Kraven's daughter! Man, I didn't see that coming!
I mean, sure, she's hunting. That should've been a clue to me. And she has an obsession with Spidey, although they've never met. Hmmmm. And she uses a kung-fu-esque martial art identified as "krav maga." Nope, not getting it yet. Oh, and the arc is called Kraven's First Hunt. But still, I needed the big, dramatic splash reveal to figure it out.
Other issues I got with this one? Well, the Daredevil costume being worn by Peter clearly shows most of his face. Certainly enough for a highly and skilled trained police officer like Vin to make the connection that it's his roommate in the costume. And of course, there's the voice of Peter, completely unaltered by the DD mask, which is another thing Vin should pick up on. Then, when Peter is visiting Vin in the hospital, his cut up face is dismissed as shaving accidents.
Finally, Peter comes up with the absolute worse excuse for the Spidey costume being in the apartment. Not, "it was for a costume party last year" or "Spider-man gave me one as thanks for taking all those great pictures of him," or "I got it on eBay." No, he concocts this story that Spider-man plants costumes around town in people's closets so they can act as unwilling decoys. WTF?
I like Guggenheim. Really, I do. But man, this whole arc has been an abortion. Some funny, witty banter in this one, but overall a poor book.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 3 - Good

I gotta agree. This blew. Total nonsense.
Yeah, the kraven reveal was confusing…. I liked the issue, but definitely agree with most of your points, especially the spidey decoy thing. Really looking forward to the next arc and anti-venom
i really enjoyed this comic and arc, and am really looking forward to new ways to die. i wasn’t surprised by the kraven reveal, but i like that they are bringing that character’s legacy back. i enjoy the increased concentration on peter parker, his life, and building the supporting cast (in this arc vin, his roommate). i think the art in this issue and bnd in general has been great.
This was the worst excuse for a Spidey comic I’ve ever read. I have every issue since 1975, and I consider dropping this every month. I keep thinking "It HAS to get better" but it never does. The reviewer makes valid points, and the plot in general was just bad. The art was mediocre at best. Marvel fed us the line that omd was done so that they could tell better stories. Where the hell are THOSE stories. I can’t possibly imagine that they made us suffer through OMD just so they could tell this?!
