I have been among the apparently minority that has not been enjoying this series.  That's not to say I don't think it's well-written or drawn.  In fact, because of the quality of the creative team involved, I almost feel like I have to apologize for no really liking this.  My main problem is that I don't know enough and don't care about these new characters.  I'm especially not a fan of "accelerated aging" story devices, such as what has been applied to Christopher.  But, the initial premise on the hunt for Zod's sleepers is somewhat interesting, and I feel like we're finally getting back on track with that... even if I think one of the strong points of Robinson and Rucka's New Krypton (proper) book is that we're not sure what Zod is up to, yet here his dirty-doings are made plain.  Oh well.  Anyway, in this issue we have Lois and Chris bringing Flamebird to Dr Light (girl Dr Light, not rape Dr Light), who heals her kryptonite poisoning with, uh, light.  This just proves to me I don't really understand how kryptonite works.  My non-comicy friends always ask how a piece of one's own planet can harm kryptonians, and I always explain it's just like radioactive elements here that are a part of Earth, but of a wavelength deadly to Kryptonians.  This business, then, with Dr Light is like me being healed from Uranium poisoning by eating a lot of salad and whole grains... but I digress.  With the end of this issue, we're moving back towards the originally stated plot after Ursa's intervention and, although I feel like this is unfolding a bit slowly and I still don't care at all about the protagonists, I am interested in Ursa, General Lane (even though the dialogue amongst the military this issue seemed awfully repetitive) and... hey, who's the disappearing tattoo chick?  Guess I have to keep reading for now.
