  1. Psyched.

  2. so excited!

  3. Not that I was getting bored with it, but I am extremely excited to see where things go. True game changer last issue.

  4. I hope he isn’t dead.

  5. If he lives, I’ll call him Hex Jr.

  6. @vadamowens  It would be pretty ridiculous if he survives a wound like that.

  7. seriously, for god sake half his face is gone

  8. He’s dead.

Like jjoe23j said, his face was blown half off.

We’ll probably get a really gut-wrenching denial scene between Rick and Denise, and I can’t wait to see where the book goes from here, but he’s dead.

If he isn’t dead, Kirkman loses a point. Good thing he has four million other points.

What do these points signify, you may ask?

    Kirkman knows.

    Oh, he knows.

  9. My jaw dropped last issue, I can’t wait to see what happens here. Any other time in the series where I’ve had doubts, Kirkman pulls something out of his bag of tricks and makes something great happen. Pumped!

  10. ZOMG is it wednesday yet!?!?!

  11. I wonder if Frank Darabont reads this comic for real? Or at least reads it at the same time as us?

Cause you know he’s probably thinking:

“Oh yeah that’s good Kirkman. Let’s do a whole season around a community enclosed in–OH MY GOD YOU KILLED WHO!?”

  12. I really thought that the character who caught it in the face would be taking the book over at some point, and his main companion would be the one to go. Huh.

  13. Very excited to see how this chapter ends.  Abraham is due to do something nuts.

  14. Is this the end? Of Rick’s sanity, damn straight it is.

Also gone, positive sentiment towards Kirkman. Damn him. If it wasn’t for the other four million points he’s accrued, I wouldn’t touch this issue. Which I must have. Now.

  15. I agree that Abraham has something coming besides a sweet love triangle.

I also agree that having said person live with that wound is not likely. But am I the only one hoping that this person lives? and gets a sick eye patch? Hell Yes.

But most likely we are going to get a heart wrenching “time to put him down” moment.

  16. @HailScott That was my thought exactly. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!: I thought Rick would eventually bite it and Carl would take over the book. Surely Carl can’t survive a head shot like that?! There’s no way. You’d need some kind of neuro-surgeon and a lot of high end medical equipment for him to even have a chance. Can’t WAIT for this issue to drop.

  17. SPOILERS: Also, judging from the upcoming covers of TWD… looks a LOT like it’s curtains for Carl

  18. This was good (hell, it’s at #84 and has yet to be bad), but not at all what I was expecting.  I should know better than to predict an issue of TWD, but I really thought this would be more of a dramatic downer.  I was all prepared for my gut to be wrenched.  There was no wrenching.

That being said. I gotta admit I was really getting pumped when everyone starting thinning that herd.  “Over here, you undead fuckwads!” Incredible. That panel should be on an Abraham For President shirt.  I fucking love that guy!  If/when he bites it, I’ll be a sad man.

I was expecting this issue to be upsetting, and instead it was inspirational.  Classic Kirkman.  Rick’s speech at the end made a lot of sense.  I feel like I should’ve had some of those ideas first (especially that maze theory).  So I guess RK’s gonna drag this out for at least another issue.  But if ____ lives, I’m still docking Kirkman a point.  No matter how many curveballs he hurls at me.

  19. That battle made me super pumped.

  20. @Suicidalkangarooz  Agreed.  I still don’t want him to die though.

  21. So…like Israel?

  22. awesome

  23. I am pretty sure Carl is done. Doesn’t bother me. Quesion: will Rick survive it? Money says no.

  24. @zombox: Answer: yes.  Kirkman’s never said it outright, but he’s suggested since the beginning that Rick would remain the one constant in the series.  It’s Rick’s story.  In a story of this nature, ya gotta give the readers at least one guy they can get behind. Otherwise it’s a free-for-all.

  25. I’m ready for this book to be done.

  26. Just saw the cover for the next issue. Kinda looks like confirmation of the Grimes family getting smaller. Makes me sadder than I would have expected. http://imagecomics.com/schedule.php?d=20110525#15058
