  1. wow.  that was quick

  2. Is this coming out biweekly now? It seems like only a couple of weeks since 74 came out.

  3. Yeah this has been coming out a lot lately. Two weeks ago was 74, and I’m thinking that 73 wasn’t too long before that. Definitly not complaining tho, the more Walking Dead the better!

  4. My friend just lent me the first five trades. I read three today. I was not expecting to like it as much as I do.

It’s horrific. It really taps into emotions other books don’t come near. Can I expect the same if I keep reading?

  5. @Zeppo Yes! It only gets worse for our heroes, but better for us. Keep going.

  6. @Zeppo

    Yes.

And yeah, Kirkman wanted to get the book back on schedule. Which he did. Which also means Adlard must be incredibly fast. Which means I now demand this book be biweekly.

    Muhahahahahaha!

  7. @ Zeppo:

Just wait until issue #48. I don’t know what # trade that is in, but it’s one of the few times I’ve ever actually gasped out loud while reading something.

  8. Anybody feel like the art has suffered?  Not saying it’s bad, but I don’t think it’s been anywhere close to Adlard at his best over the past few issues.

  9. @cutty nah. I’ve felt its the same quality.

  10. @cutty: I have to disagree. In fact I think Adlard has stepped up his game with recent issues.

Looking forward to this as always. The gang has had a couple weeks of contentment and security, it’s about time to wreck all that and get back to paranoia and fighting for survival amidst hopeless tragedy.

  11. Ottley doing a Walking Dead back up? Fuck that’s gonna be bloody.

I’m reading this in trade but I don’t mind minor spoilers now and then….These guys have been in a safe haven for months? I’d like to see how that worked.

  12. The 8th tpb has issue #48 in it.

     Matthew

  13. Didn’t Kirkman say a long time ago that this the issue where he introduces the aliens?

  14. I am sooo looking to the aliens this issue. It’s been a long journey.

  15. I’ve on the fifth trade so not long to go. The end of four had me jaw-dropped. We are the walking dead…wow

  16. Loved the backup, especially seeing Axel and Martinez breifly. Funny stuff.

I can see why Rick lost it after what he went through, but I was definitely wishing he would back down there at the end. This series is back at the top of my list for most anticipated monthly.

  17. the tension for this arc is just dripping off the page, fucking brilliant stuff…i wonder how big Abraham is going to react to this turn of events??

  18. What have you done, Rick?!

    That backup was genius.

  19. I just finished reading this issue and wow holy mother of the wind can you say anarchy.

  20. The backup alone warranted my pick of the week. Simply awesome.

  21. I flew through the book and went past the letters column and thought the backup was part of the main story.  Extremely fun stuff.

  22. Great issue. I thought the story was still going after the letters page but it totally fooled me! I laughed at that and at Michonne’s head umm…squeeze. And the zombie photos in back really made me excited for the tv show. 5/5

  23. dammit rick

  24. This was amazing, I’m really looking forward to where this goes from here. I’m glad that Kirkman took it where he did, because Rick really was on the edge, and it makes sense that it would happen. I can’t wait to see what he does with Rick’s character now.

  25. Loved this! POTW. I was getting kinda bored but Kirkman sucked me back in as usual. I’m always fascinated when a writer can take a character that I’m fiercely loyal to, and force me to disagree with said character in a realistic and organic way. This whole arc we’ve been waiting for the community to fuck it all up, and it turns out to be our fearless leader. Brilliant. Can’t wait to see where they go with this, and I’m back to counting the days until the next issue comes out. Bring it on, RK!

Also that backup was just plain fun. Kirkman may be the most reader-friendly writer in comics. He promised aliens, and aliens we got.

  26. …I would read that book, yea. I mean I don’t want Walking Dead to become that but at the same
time I kind of do cuz that’s such an awesome idea. I almost wish you could get away with doing 75 issues one way and then all
of a sudden pull the rug out an completely change the book 180 degrees

  27. Feels like this is coming out really fasy but Invincible is coming out really slow
