  1. Billy Tan!? Ughhh 🙁

  2. Did anyone else here play Bulletstorm for 360 or ps3?  I’m having a harder time taking Remender seriously after hearing some of the worst dialogue in a video game, which is saying a lot I know.

  3. Fuck a video game.

    This series is awesome.

  4. weird scheduling. if not for this, i’d prob not even go to the shop this week

  5. @wallythegreenmonster Theyre prolly trying to bang out as many issues out before the X-men event. Which is in what, June?

  6. @suffkillz  –i’m not keeping track of that. I was enjoying the pace. Back to back is always wierd y’know?

  7. Any thoughts on why Fantomex was hiding Apocalpse at the end of the last book? It seems to fly in the face of shooting him in the head…

Also, I know it has been mentioned, but Dean White really is something special.

  8. @Funcrusher  What happened to Opeña? Modern comics make me cry. I like runs.

  9. 2 Weeks in a row? Really?

  10. @ResurrectionFlan  He takes a while to draw his issues I hear, but Opena will be back for the final arc of the fist act (issues 13-18 I think). I miss him badly, trust me, but at least we get Dean White every issue who keeps the feel of the series intact.

  11. @ResurrectionFlan  Remender talked about the rotating artists on his book in the interview we did with him at Wonder Con.

  12. I better actually read last week’s issue.

  13. they’re going to have this series up to issue 11 by june…I’m ok with that though, I love this book! I could take or leave Billy Tans art….and Remender on Bulletstorm……don’t get me started, a piss drunk Irish sailor on Prozac could have written a better script for a game. Long live Fantomex!

  14. @Funcrusher  I’m guessing that he might be facinated with the moral conundrum after all the arguing before and after him shooting the kid.

  15. I switched up to subscribing to Marvel for this. So I don’t want anybody to even speak of it for the next six to eight weeks. I’m sticking my fingers in my ears now. La, la, la, la, la….

  16. So this is the BAD Tan?

  17. Holy Christ 2 weeks in a row?!? oh well I’m fine with it I guess since this is my current favorite book and all

  18. Geez , this book is always coming out.  Its like three books in a 7 week span.

  19. @xiseerht  It’s a super book, run for your lives before it kills us all!

  20. @RahUniQue  This is the Billy “okay-ish” Tan.

Phillip Tan followed Quietly on Batman & Robin last year -> http://cdn.comicartfans.com/Images/Category_30402/subcat_90126/Philip%20Tan%20-%20Batman%20page.jpg

  21. This is part of the Marvel double ship every hot title they can and throw in a .1 issue while we are at it strategy. Fewer titles, shipped more times. They figure rather than water down their product by marketing 800 different series variations (cough Thor cough), they will water down their product by producing it at a rate that reduces the quality of all their regularly produced product.

  22. Don’t buy it if you don’t like it.

    Stop bitchin

  23. @ScorpionMasada  word…i’m not going to complain about getting my fav book more regularly, especially when the opposite scenario (The Flash) sucks a lot more…

  24. Bitching and actual constructive criticism are two way, way different things. Elsewhere. Here, generally, it’s all lumped together as “negativity.”

  25. Ok…so up until now I have loved the shit out of this book, now I am by no means “dissing” this book, and I like to think of myself as a pretty smart guy…but I’m just a little lost. I don’t think I’m grasping the concept of “the world”…I get the Psylock/Archangel thing, and Shadow King exacting his revenge…I’m just a little hazy with this whole Deathlok thing, maybe I need to re-read from book one, I just feel like there is something I didn’t pick up on…anyone care to try to bring me up to speed?

  26. As far as “the world” goes, its a GIGANTIC, yet pocket sized, laboratory. Its where Fantomex was created and supposedly where all the other weapon __ (<- insert random roman numeral) projects branched off from. I don’t follow deathlok but i think the deathlok “time virus” was constructed in “the world” as well. At least what i’ve gathered from it is its a super sophisticated, indoctorinating, speed-breeding super-soldier maker. And can be minimized/re-enlarged anywhere.

And as for deathlok. As i said before i’m not a fan/follower. I just know that these machines were dispersed through multiple dimensions/timelines with the intent to hunt down and either kill mutants or turn them into controllable super cops. So the MAIN deathlok dude is the only one who developed a conscience and that’s why he’s helping x-force. The others are (i think) trying to restart “the world” so they can start pumping out an army of more deathloks in the 616 universe.

Sorry if i told you everything you already knew.

  27. btw!! Psyched about the magneto cover next ish!!! =D

  28. Another great issue, can’t complain about how frequently I get those.  I’m typically not too into Billy Tan but this is good stuff.  As usual Dean White does a great job at keeping the look consistent.

  29. @oopsxlandmine  Helped me…Thanks!

  30. @oopsxlandmine  thanks, that actually helps a lot…I picked up on the deathlok stuff trying to take over mutant-kind but i was confused with the “world” and how it fit into the picture. Now I get it! Thanks!

  31. If you’re unfamiliar with the World, that means you are unfamiliar with Grant Morrison’s New X-Men run, and THAT means comics: you’re doing it wrong. Get reading.

Anyone that wants more info on this current incarnation of Deathlok should direct their attention to Jason Aaron’s Wolverine: Weapon X series.

As far as this particular issue of X-Force goes, absolutely great stuff.  Never seen Billy Tan’s work look this good, and Remender continues to do excellent things with Psylocke and Archangel. This is far and away my favorite X-book at the moment.

  32. A testament to Dean White’s talent. He made Tan’s work look good!!!

  33. @conor  @whitespyder9  @Funcrusher  I retract my statement despite three pencilers the art has been really consistent. MAJOR PROPS to the colorist Dean White, the secret star of X-Force I think.

  34. @neftones  –that’s a lot of homework to understand a minor plot sub-point donchya think? Its just a comic book…it shouldn’t be that complicated.

  35. @wally i agree. I just wiki what i need to know.

  36. @wallythegreenmonster  1. it’s not a minor plot sub-point. 2. reading great comics is hardly “homework.” 3. you don’t need to read any of those to understand the story here… what I posted is just for people who want the entire background to what Remender is doing.

  37. @neftones  —i thought it was pretty minor. More of an Easter Egg for long time readers like you, a non contextual aside for people like me. . Your comment didn’t come off the way you claim to have intended. You suggested that you need to read years worth of back issues or else “you’re doing it wrong”. That type of thing is one of my biggest pet peeve’s with comics, and the kind of things that keeps new readers away.

  38. @wallythegreenmonster  “you’re doing it wrong” simply meant that Morrison’s run is widely considered one of the best X-Men runs ever. If you’re reading comics and not hitting the landmark runs, then yes, you are doing it wrong. It’s like saying you like Batman and having not read The Dark Knight Returns. Not sure how you misunderstand that.

As far as the World being “minor,” how is the focus of an entire arc, the place of origin of two of the team members, and the home of what will be a MAJOR aspect of the series going forward (Fantomex’s “project”) “minor?” A “minor” aside would be Xorn’s helmet in the X-Cave, or something along those lines.

  39. @neftones  –i didn’t misunderstand anything. You just didn’t say any of that.

there is no right or wrong way to enjoy comics. Comics are supposed to be fun, not a job. Yes, its good to read the good works if you like a character. But if someone enjoys just reading new stuff and not diving into the old, thats fine. Whatever brings you enjoyment should be the only way.

I can appreciate your passion, but that attitude of “doing it wrong” is obnoxious and elitist and hear too much from hardcore fans. It pushes new and casual readers away and keeps em out of the shops. Kept me out for a long time. Its possible to turn people on to new or important things without talking down to them as some sort arbiter of taste.

  40. @wallythegreenmonster  holy overreaction dude, you’re making a hell of a thing out of a simple bit of hyperbole. sensitive much? no one’s talking down to anyone, christ – well, except you now, Mr. “I’m going to lecture the Internets on how to talk about comics.” You keep trying to say I didn’t say things or my intentions weren’t clear, but you’re the one reading one hell of a lot into an innocuous turn of phrase. R e l a x. It was nothing more than a way to underline the signicance of Grant Morrison’s run, and given your inability to recognize the importance of the World, may I recommend worrying less about what people say online, and worrying more about reading some comics? it’s a big world out there (PUN!).

jesus. try to provide some illumination and get some Boston dope making a mountain out of a molehill. i love the tubes.

  41. @neftones  — you’re doing it wrong. (ZING!)

  42. A-fucking-mazing issue
