SWEET TOOTH #19

One of Vertigo’s most experimental titles takes even more chances as indie superstars Matt Kindt (REVOLVER, Superspy), Nate Powell (Swallow Me Whole) and Emi Lenox (Emitown) contribute stories alongside Jeff Lemire for a very special stand-alone issue. As the three female characters of SWEET TOOTH go off to collect firewood for the night, we see glimpses of their past, all of which reveal something more about the mysterious plague that decimated America.

  1. awesome idea. and i love matt kindt.

  2. I am intrested and will be going to try this out and perhaps buy up the back issues if it is as good as I have been hearing.

  3. @deadspace  I’ve been really digging Matt Kindt lately too. Emi Lenox is quite good too. Very excited about the art in this one.

  4. I wish the trades came out faster. Volume 3 with issues 12-17? isn’t coming out until June.

  5. @s1lentslayer  Yeah, Vertigo tends to drag their feet with the trades.

  6. @s1lentslayer: Want me an Absolute.

  7. @MegaPhilip – Matt Kindt totally won me over with 3 Story. What a book! I haven’t got round to checking out Emitown yet but Lemire really digs her stuff. He was tweeting about her before she got Emitown published and has been pushing her stuff quite a lot so I’m not surprised to see her on this.

  8. Can’t wait to see these creators work their magic. I’ve never heard of Powell or Lenox before so it’ll be interesting to see what their style is like.

  9. Really great stuff here. I love Lenox’s style that is a blend of cartoony elements but has a surreal Mike Allred-lite quality to it. Powell’s story was okay but Kindt’s story really nailed it with the emotions. More proof that this is one of the best comics on the stands today.
