  2. Aaaaaaand… I have a reason to go to the comic shop this week.

  3. I was thinking about Scalped this week, and I’d say the depth of the characters and their relationships in Scalped is better than the Godfather, Goodlfellas or any other crime drama I’ve encountered in any medium (the only western that struck me as even comparable on this front was the Lonesome Dove saga). I love Scalped, and both can’t wait for the conclusion and will be super-sad when it does finish.

  4. Oh, crap. Can’t wait.

  5. I hope Scalped gets a deluxe hardcover treatment similar to Y: The Last Man. This series warrants a lot more than to only be available in cheap tpb’s.

  6. That is one beautiful and heartbreaking cover. Solid contender for cover of the year in my book.

    • Have you seen the cover to the final issue yet? It’s up at the Vertigo site. I had the same thought about that one.

    • Yupp. I really dig it and it elicited just the right emotional response, it really couldn’t be better. But the raw power and roughness of this one pushes it slightly ahead for me.

    • I can see that. It is an amazing cover. I love that they were bold enough to let almost the whole image just be orange flame/cloud, even obscuring the logo. It does make for some hella anticipation.
