  1. Very much looking forward to this issue.  For me this has been the best comic on the block for some time.  It’s got all the hallmarks of a classic indie book; it’s intelligent, uncompromising, surprising, exciting; it creates a world totally alien to what I know and makes it entirely understandable and believable; it’s not scared to wander and look at other things occasionally, but every meander adds to the overall greatness of it.  It’s basically brilliant.

  2. I can’t wait to see what Shunka does after last issue!

  3. #36 was fantastic.  Somehow, I’m sure this will top it.

  4. Davide Furno’s art is awesome. I love it. This series keeps surprising me every time.

  5. When all is said and done this may make my top ten series/runs of all time.  Not sure if anything else I’m reading will make that cut.

  6. For Shunka, revenge is a dish best served…FLAMING!

  7. Whenever I need my story fix of gay American Indian killers….I go to Scalped.

  8. I wonder how he plans to weave the angry gay indians into the larger story.

  9. @DenverDave I just hope a cowboy, a biker, a soldier, a cop, and an electrician don’t show up too.

  10. I’m not trying to be crude, I am honestly curious… was that a dildo he was carving in those last few panels?

  11. Excellent as always.

I’m not sure how much, if at all, this will tie in to the "greater story" of Scalped, except that in some cases we may now look at Shunka’s actions and motivations differently now. I for one am interested in re-reading from the start to see how much this may have been hinted at before.

If he does "come out" to Red Crow at a later date though…that’ll be a helluva scene.

  12. That ending really surprised me. Why can’t people just love each other?
