  1. yea, RM Guera!

  2. FINALLY!  I like decompression, but jesus christ

  3. Forgot this was coming out, also feels like it hasn’t been out in forever. Still the best comic being published btw.

  4. I’ve been waiting to see what happens with the grifter introduced in the beginning of the arc.  Knowing this title, it isn’t gonna be pretty.

  5. Drugged out drunk Dash whos mother just died, has his life threatened by some con, this should be violent.

  6. i don’t think we’ve really seen dash since that standalone with his girlfriend, and he decided to start using at the end.  that must’ve been 10 issues ago

  7. this is gonna be brutal.

  8. I have a confession to make…the first issue of Scalped really put me off of looking into it again. All the tough guy dirty insults, the "twist" with his mother, then the same one carried out with the boss guys daughter a few pages later…..it all felt a bit heavy handed to me.As subtle as a sledgehammer,so to speak.

I’ve heard a lot of people rave about this though….did it change in any way as it goes on? Should I look into the trades or is it just that people either love or dislike that kind of style?

  9. sweet cover!  I’m looking forward to seeing Bad Horse in action again.  He’s been missing for what appears to be some extra-story development.  Welcome back Dash

  10. @Fugmo: It sounds like SCALPED isn’t for you.

  11. @Fugmo- I disagree with Conor. I did’nt really like Scalped for the first couple issues, but once I got into the second trade I really enjoyed it, and by the third trade it was one of my favorite series out there. Give the second trade a try.

  12. Agreed with Ruo.  Get to and read the Dead Mothers arc, and see if it doesn’t change your mind

  13. i love this comic. 1 of 2 i bought this week, the rest of the stuff.. bleh

  14. @ jbraun — the only book I baought. But so, so, good. So good.

  15. @Fugmo  If you’re not into a violent crime story with some offensive language the book probably ISN’T for you.  But if it was just the tone of the first issue, I’d say to at least give the first trade a chance and see how the story plays out.

Incidentally, I’m surprised this issue didn’t get more POW votes, though I guess a lot of this book’s audience probably overlaps with Batman & Robin.  This was just a brillaintly-structured issue, though.

  16. @Fugmo. I came into this series with issue number 12 and loved it from there.  I then went and picked up the first two trades which I liked, but I might have enjoyed them mostly for excplaining all of the plot  details I wasnt getting.  But yes, as was said before the Dead Mothers arc is fantastic, if you don’t like that one I suppose you could give up on this book/  I hope that helps.

  17. almost my pick of the week.  i love how aaron pulled a fast one and ended this arc in a completely different way than how i thought.  also, thank God RM Guera was back on this issue.  those two fill-in artists are terribel compared to the gorgeous stuff RM is putting on the page, and when he doesnt pancil it, the book suffers for it

  18. Pretty neat "deus ex machina" that saved Dash’s life.  I really hope he gets his shit together after this.

  19. Absolutely brilliant issue. 5/5, and a strong contender for POW.

  20. Fantastic.

  21. I’m just wondering if Dash revealing that he’s FBI will end in his demise.  It can’t end well.  Especially if he tells the daughter of the freaking chief!!!
