  1. the story seems solid, but i think the art might be holding this back. where the hell’s Checchetto? this is Rucka’s swan song on the Punisher and we’re stuck with…Di Giandomenico.

  2. I thought Giandomenico killed it on this one. Thor’s action scenes were perfect.

  3. Damn that was fucking good! Thor’s war chat with Frank was very intriguing. I really liked the way Giandomenico drew the lighting coming off of Mjolnir and connected with Thor’s armor.

  4. This made me want a Rucka Thor series.

Looks like the eye-patchless Frank Castle of Thunderbolts is the new status quo.

  5. i don’t know. there are things i liked about this. Thor’s lightning looked awesome. i like how Castle led Thor to an enemy camp for maximum damage. i liked how they drank brews after battling.
BUT, why didn’t Thor bring him in? wasn’t that the point? why does Cap want Castle to turn himself in of his own free accord?
i like this, but it feels rushed. inorganic. didn’t i hear somewhere that Rucka is being forced off the book? is that correct? i remember reading that, but i don’t know if it’s true.
i think it’s real crappy that Thunderbolts came out before this wrapped up. can u say spoiler? i also think it’s crappy that there will be no more beard, no more eye patch, no more spray paint skull, no more Rucka/Checchetto Punisher and no more Punisher books in my foreseeable after War Zone. i am thoroughly disinterested in the immediate future of the character, given the creative teams and the platform.
