  1. Geeked…as usual.

Even though i’m super excited for this issue, i’m even more excited for the next arc!

  2. I really love that the Punisher has not done anything to slow the rise of the Kingpin.  It’s the most interesting Punisher story I’ve ever read.

  3. agreed on all counts.  bring on Bullseye is abso-fucking-lutely right

  4. Jason Aaron is killing this…cant wait

  5. I can’t wait for more mayhem and also perhaps a preview of what will come next.

  6. This is my favorite book over at Marvel right now.

  7. This has been a very good book. Although it does seem to be in a groove where there’s nothing ‘exciting’ to reference each week. Either way I am excited for this issue.

  8. TNC – Maybe it’s like Scalpedl; just so consistently good.

Do you like Aaron’s Wolverine book?

  9. @Sunnyvale: I haven’t read it yet, decided to trade wait. Although you remind me that my work has the first trade. Should give it a shot.

  10. I bought the first trade of Scalped and I wasn’t exactly moved by it.  I’m thinking about giving it another shot cuz I love what this writer is doing with Weapon X and Punisher MAX so I’ll probably wait until it’s all over and read it all in one large sum like I’m about to do with Ex Machina soon.

  11. @TNC his Weapon X stuff is great. I haven’t read his Get Mystique arc in Wolverine but heard good things. I may pick up a trade of that or borrow from a friend.  If you want "excited" read Aaron’s Punisher MAX X-Mas Special. It has a very good ending that makes you say "OMG WTF that was bad ass!" After reading that a while back I knew the Punisher MAX was in good hands with Aaron.

  12. @JesTr: That special got me on the Aaron bandwagon in the first place. It was so fucked up and awesome at the same time it made me want to see a Punisher comic by him. A year and a half later..

  13. The pairing of Aaron and Dillon is so awesome/obvious, it feels like cheating.

  14. Man Scalped is my favorite book, but nothing Jason Aaron writes for Marvel has been all that good except Immortal Weapons #1. I dropped this after #4… it’s not bad… it’s like a 3/5 book, but it’s not good enough to justify the price.

  15. My fave book of all time might be renumbered, but its still the best. My POTW, harsh, dirty and brutal. I love/hate that I cannot guess whats going to happen next.

  16. Nice ending to a very solid first arc. Well when I mean ‘nice’ I mean, ‘wow there were some fucked up things in this.’

I’m excited to see where this ‘new’ take on Bullseye will lead us.

  17. Wait can someone help me out here, when the F did Rigolleto escape?

  18. @Ruo21: Yeah that bugged me too. I mean the last issue he was practically scared shitless as Kingpin opened his door. Suddenly there is a HUGE time jump to get to the beginning of this issue.

I’m going to guess somehow, someway, Rigolleto escaped from Fisk before he could kill him. I mean Fisk did say that in the beginning and I guess Aaron didn’t think it was important to show HOW he did it. But still…..that was a bit of a head scratcher.

  19. I approve of the recap page, but I really dislike when it’s used like this. The recap page should be used to help readers better understand the story, not as a crutch for the writer. This seems like it would read quite poorly in trade.

This brought back sour tastes of Secret Invasion for me.

  20. His son? Wow

  21. This was fucked up. Like every other page all I could think was ‘wow…this is one fucked up comic’ and damn was it good.

  22. I could see what was going to happen a mile away but that still didn’t blunt the impact of when it did happen. That was messed up.

I also liked how where I thought it was going to end, because of the placement of the credits, but then I flipped the page thinking there was going to be ads or a letters page but I was surprised that there was two more pages!

  23. Great issue.  Loved the brutal safe-to-the-head murder.  Aaron always finds a way to give violence a little Cronenberg-esque twist.

  24. hm, a story-beat in the recap page, that’s a shame.  also insteresting, anybody else’s copy have two covers?
