    It’s a neat mix of characters, i just hope this is not as decompressed as the early issues of Justice League. Curious about Hawkman & Stargirl in particular

    Also happy to see Finch on something other than Batman.

    Looking forward to this. I need some good Catwoman, Manhunter, and GA in my life. With Ollie’s title on the upswing, and Johns on this, it looks like I’ll get my wish.

    This line up in it’s entirety intrigues me more and more. Trinity War can’t get here fast enough.

      I liked the first issue of that book a lot. And it was all downhill from there. I was happy when it was cancelled, because I was gonna drop it anyway. Dan Jurgens is the ultimate mediocre comics writer.

      I’m sure this will be much better. I’ve liked most of Geoff Johns Justice League, except the Jim Lee issues for some reason. It just felt like they were too dumbed down.

      yeah, i rarely agree with someone 100% but you’re right. jurgens is pretty damn dated, the lee issues were gorgeous as fuck, but for some reason written for a younger audience it seems, and JLI.. idk. Lopresti seemed bland as fuck. there was never a panel where i was impressed. i may buy the trades for completist’s sake though.

    Well, this was about as typical as the first issue of a team book can be. I enjoyed the little ties to the larger universe throughout, and the ending was a nice curveball. Hope there’s more of that element in the future, because the rest of this was basically a conversation. And not a particularly interesting one.

    It was nice to see Finch and his masseter muscles again. It’s been a while.

    Nice team intro, lost interest a few times in the beginning but finished strong. I liked Martian Manhunters tough guy and Green Arrow almost having a goatee.

    I thought the art was pretty terrible in this. Finch hasn’t been good for a while and I feel like he was using a lot of photo reference in the Walller/Trevor scenes. Nothing pulls me out of a story faster that bad photo reference.

    I am digging this.
    Some off Finch’s panels look a bit…off. But 95% of them are exquisite. Reminded of good Deodato. Especially with the similarities between Col Steve Trevor and Cap Steve Rogers. It’s a good thing.
    Loved the scenes with Hawkman, the creepy Martian and Catwoman(especially when she flirted with Trevor before putting him on his ass).
    I was almost sad to see that the Dark Hunter was GA. I thought this would be a cool new character with an awesome costume design. That Japanese war mask was wicked.
    I also like the implication that Ivo has created an evil, robotic JL.
    I am psyched for The JL stories to come 😀

    New Avengers – Mysterious Ronin character ends up being Hawkeye

    Justice League America – Mysterious Dark Hunter character ends up being Green Arrow

    This isnt to make fun of either comic, just thought it was a pretty funny coincidence.

    This was a very good first issue. Good intro into the team. Can’t wait to see if they go up against the Justice League someday.
