  1. lol of course dc picks the one teammate i enjoy the least

  2. I was going to protest that Jaime is awesome, but I agree that it was a totally bizarre decision to put him on the cover, considering that Winick hasn’t really done anything with him. Which is too bad, because Jaime is awesome.

  3. They had to pick Jaime because Booster has his own cover that comes out this week, Fire & Ice don’t have logos, Captain Atom was just had a cover, and Rocket Red’s communist (which is the only reason I can think of that he hasn’t been on a single cover yet).

  4. a fire and ice cover woulda been awesome, theye could just make up a logo like starman and congorilla lol

  5. Glad that Lopresti is on art duties with this issue…he’s the best of the artists doing this series.

  6. The most exciting series I read every month.

  7. Power Girl as the enemy! That’ll be fun. =)

  8. @Malecema  There was a whole super commie-fied cover of Rocket Reds a couple of months ago.

  9. I think the cover looks bad ass.  Cool logo, cool pose.  Blue Beetle for the win!

  10. @ResurrectionFlan:  I forgot about that one, that was one of the better covers too.  Given that it even makes more sense that Jaime had to be on the cover.

  11. I was never mega into Blue Beetle, but after getting the Batman Brave and the Bold game for Wii and watching the first season of that show I am totally on board.

  12. I love this Blue Beetle image.  I saw the upcoming solicits and you’ll probably get why he’s on the cover this week over the next few months.

  13. I like the cover but it would of been cool to see an old JLI look instead.

  14. So, I had never read anything with Max Lord before JLGL. Is “crap in a hat” something he normally said? Like a lil catchphrase? Cause he’s said it twice now.

  15. I…I don’t think so. For some reason, Winick occasionally puts really bizarre words in Max’s (and only Max’s) mouth.

However, should it become his lil catchphrase? Abso-freaking-lutely.

  16. Its not as good now only because I expect it to be this good now. Booster seems a little too competant even thought I love him, sometimes he makes mistakes.

Still my favorite DC book at the moment.

  17. @Minion  Booster had his wise up moment last issue though don’t forget!

  18. @sakuuya  Yeah, I think it should too. As a matter of fact we should all start saying “Crap in a hat!” more in our day to day lives.

@Minion  He’s been portrayed as pretty competent over in his solo series. I think he’s matured a lot as a hero now that he has a real purpose and he’s not just doing it for the glory.

  19. @ResurrectionFlan @RoiVampire I know that he’s competent but I never saw him as a leader. And even though he’s great he makes plenty of mistakes. I would be more ok with it if there was some challenge against his leadership, but there’s only been a couple of jokes about how they’re following him. No real challenge.

  20. Does anybody else feel like this series is starting to drag a bit?  There wasn’t anything wrong with this issue, but I feel like the overall story is starting to lose it’s momentum.  I’m sure it will pick up quite a bit the closer we get to the end but I feel like 26 issues is about 4-5 issues too many for the story and they’ve had to stretch it out a bit.

That being said, I’ve been loving this series and I’m sure it will pick up and finish with a bang.

  21. @Malecema: I’ve been thinking about that a lot, actually. I think something they could have done to make it drag less was to structure it as smaller arcs that all add up to a big story. If they’d had to have some sort of semi-contained plot structure every 4-6 issues, I think the book would meander a lot less.

  22. This book has been stuck in a giant story rut for about 8 issues now.

  23. Weakest issue of the run so far, but honestly weak for this book is still gold.

  24. @Malecema  — i do feel that way a bit. I feel that its lost in those 2nd act doldrums. It took me two days after i bought it before i read it. Usually its the first thing i read the day i get home with it.

i was really looking forward to a battle with Powergirl like the little blurb said…what a rip.

  25. I reallly hate these covers.

  26. The art in this issue really dragged this issue down. The layouts were poor and led to confusing storytelling. I would really like someone else drawing this book.
