  1. This has been an interesting arc. Not the best, but still interesting.

  2. I love how the others are freaking out but Frank is completely unfazed. He’s done this before. Invasive surgery is really no big deal for him.

  3. Hey, I thought John Constantine got old and ended up drinking in some pub with Karen Berger and shit?

    Oh wait…..

  4. Constantine is the least-interesting chracter in the book. There, I said it!

    • Seconded!

This book can be good, but it’s been a flawed run so far. I’m beginning to suspect that having Constantine as the fulcrum, is that flaw. I can’t speak for Hellblazer, but he makes for a relatively bland narrative driver in this book.

  5. Still really loving this book. Being as it’s getting so many pulls I guess I’m not alone.

  6. Hiya, question: is this series worth picking up? I’m dropping some books soon and considering adding this series to my pull-list. I asked the clerk at my LCS about it and he said people keep dropping it then coming back and buying the last 3 issues, he also said “It’s not inconsistent, but it kinda is”. I read #9 and liked it, and I can get that and all the issues after so again; is this worth picking up? I’m a Lemire fan so I feel like I should buy at least one of his books every month.

    • Short answer is yes, pick it up cause its good.

Long answer, well you already mentioned liking Jeff Lemire and his work on this title is exceptional. Lemire is becoming the “goto” guy at DC in recent months and along with Scott Snyder they are redefining the DCU.

This title of course features the supernatural corner of the DCU and these characters are the perfect vehicle for Lemire’s more personal type of storytelling and characterization.

And with news that Guillermo Del Toro is doing a film around these heroes soon, look for this title to be a “must read” in a year.

      Hop on now! =)

    • Cool, I agree with Snyder and Lemire being the “goto” guys at DC (just hope they don’t get burned out from putting out awesome books all the time). I might replace “Animal Man” with this, and like I said I can get all the previous issues so I can catch up. Thanks @ghostmann.

    • Yeah, I would say pick it up for sure. I started reading at issue #9 also and then got the first trade. Issues #7 and #8 are in the I,Vampire volume 2 trade which I will be getting soon so then I should be all caught up too.

  7. This wasn’t terrible but didn’t blow me away either.

  8. I was all set to drop this but continue to end up buying it. This arc has been interesting and I will at least stick around to see how it ends at this point. I actually like this better than what Lemire was doing on his own.

If nothing else, this is now the go to place for a Frankenstein fix.

  9. Very good issue, very excited to see how this story arc wraps up with the big attack coming next issue.
