  1. Everyone really needs to at least give this a try. Honestly… have DnA STILL not proven themselves to be the perfect team in writing well crafted, fun comics?? And are their sensibilities not perfect for a Heroes for Hire book???

  2. In DnA I trust!

  3. I can’t wait to see Walker’s Ghost Rider.

  4. Though it will be a while, can’t wait for this to hit marvel digital…

  5. This book seems like it’s going to contain the silly and crazy aspects of the Shadowland book, but written a lot better. This is definitely the most anticipated book of the week, for me.

  6. This will fill the void left behind by the Guardians of the Galaxy.  Most anticipated comic in a while!

  7. Aren’t half of these people Avengers?

  8. @ PozrDu – lol – I thought that.

I was interested in this when it was announced, but I think I’m gonna wait to here what the buzz is. Not sure what the idea behind the book is.

  9. i’ll give it one issue, but it’s going to have to be amazing. There are soooo many good books right now, that it’s going to take a lot for me to part with one of them to make room for this.

  10. I think part of the charm of this book IS the fact that it has a crazy cast of characters. It’s the equivalent of taking a mix of your favorite action figures, whether they are Marvel or DC or Godzilla, and imagining crazy team ups between the two. It’s such a great concept, and it’s what great fun comics should aspire to.

  11. This book had me at “Paladin”.

  12. looking forward to this

  13. I need more Iron Fist in my life, plus you really can’t go wrong with picking up a DnA book nowadays. I’m excited for this.

  14. @PozrDu: Only two of the characters are currently avengers–MoonKnight and Iron Fist

  15. Actually Iron Fist isn’t even on one of the teams (although he is in just about every issue of New Avengers).

  16. Can’t see Punisher being a good teammate, wonder what his role will be in this.

  17. I have to admit that I am a sucker for any first issue of a new team. I just love the whole “getting the band together” vibe. I can almost hear Thin Lizzy’s “Boys are Back in Town” in the background as I read it. Sue me.

  18. I want to hire Elektra and Ghost Rider for my next barbeque.

  19. @Noto  Ghost Rider I can understand. He can be a makeshift grill.

    But why Elektra?

  20. Use Elektra’s sais as skewers for the bbq.

  21. @TheNextChampion  Sais skewer weenies fantastically.

  22. I read the preview on CBR, and it looked really pretty and read interestingly. It’ll get one issue at least.

  23. Silver Sable + Moon Knight = Sold.

  24. @Diabhol  Oh man i didn’t even read the solicit. If i had known Silver Sable was in this I would have pulled it right away. Love her. Seriously, I have no idea why but she’s one of my favorite Marvel characters

  25. Everyone needs to stop being excited for this book now!!! Someone who hasn’t even read it yet gave it a 3!!

  26. @Jdudley  And how do you know they haven’t read it? I think our Canadien friends got their books on time.

  27. Damn, I was thinking how I miss reading a DnA book since Nova ended but seeing the cast of characters in this one has me very interested.  I’ll definitely try and check this out.

  28. Hmmm, but in England new books don’t come out till Friday this week? And usually they come out Thursday in the UK. Whatever, I’m just excited for this book!! Walker’s art looks incredible in the preview btw–for those who havnt seen it

  29. So those canuckleheads did get new books today! And apparently this book is as awesome as I’d hoped! Can’t wait to get my mitts on it and see for sure!!

  30. @Jdudley  UK comics are still Thursday this week.

I have my copy of Heroes for Hire #1. Abnett and Lanning are masterful once again.

I’ve got a feeling the phrase “Hello Hero, are you for Hire?” is going to become an iconic phrase.

  31. I needed this after the travesty that was Shadowland. It was awesome.

  32. This was great.  Last page reveal guy looks creepy as hell.

  33. Yep…. this book is AWESOME!! Must read for everyone. I don’t see how anyone couldnt grin ear to ear reading this

  34. This was great! Tons of fun.

  35. Man this issue was great, I love expecting little and the stores end up being spectacular.

  36. I have just converted (well joined forces, still a DC fan among many others) over to Marvel (always had Punisher on my side) and this was one of the first issues I have bought, since my extreme disappointment with the Ultimate Avengers 2. I didn’t have any expectations and I really don’t know much about the characters, but this issue evoked a need to know more. Will be reading the second issue fo sho!

  37. great book, my 1st time reading this i am really suprise how well the story and art is in this book.  Defnitly going to be adding this book to my monthly read.
