  1. I’ve really been enjoying the feel of this book with Bedard. It’s somehow light and fun but yet the threats seem real.

  2. Whew. No more tentacles for this series!

  3. Less exposition this chapter would be good. I enjoyed it more before Cyber-Super sat me down to tell me how he disbanded the Manhunter, rebanded the Manuhunters, only to give away the Manhunters in exchange for pie. Or something like that.

  4. I agree that this book doesn’t need the exposition that Bedard is putting into it, but I think he is a little too used to it since he has to make Rebels like that because no one remembers/knows those characters.

  5. @JimBilly4: but it was good pie!  it was cherry!  i’d pick this up if it weren’t for the fact i’d be walking into the middle of a series… again… especially since i missed the entire "darkest night" arc

  6. I’ve liked this arc, but Emerald Warriors is killing any interest I had in this title.  Two GL books written by Johns and Tomasi is all the world really needs.

  7. So far so good with the first issue but the verdict is still out on this one.

  8. The endings of these issues have been very strange. They don’t feel like endings and it also feels like Bedard is writing for the trade. Because you could easily read each final page of the last couple of issues and they feel more like ‘high points’ and not ‘finales’.

Still a pretty good issue with some minor quibbles. Rayner is pretty damn boring and pointless in this series. Give me a Stewart/Ganthet book only and I’ll buy it. Stewart had more lines in this issue then he has probably in the last 2 years. Syaf also did a great job again, even making me more sad for the change coming up in 2 months.

    3/5

  9. I thought the story was stronger but I didn’t like the art too much at all. It might be the coloring but I don’t think the faces are right.

  10. This was definitely my least favorite of the issues thus far. The plot is starting to stretch a little thin.

@Someone with more GL knowledge than myself: When a GL’s ring is drained, do they or do they not lose their uniform and return to their civvies? I’ve seen it done both ways, and I was just wondering what the rules were (if any).
