Looks like Cassandra is back.
Awesome cover.
I would like to pick this up, although I have very little experience with the x-books within the last 10 years.
then pick it up.
@MBurnsOH What @skeets said. Gillen’s last two issues of Uncanny have been awesome, and this series has been solid so far. JUMP ON NOW!!
I have given Gillen his growing pains issues. He had to grow out of what Fraction had handed him (5 crappy lights). And each issue has been better than the last, just not great yet (imo). Here is where he needs to shine.
I’ve really enjoyed Gillen’s last couple issues of Uncanny, so I picked this up on a quasi-whim (gotta support the $2.99 Marvel books) and I totally dug it! It’s like Generation X by way of Warren Ellis’ Authority run.
Gillen can have control of the x-universe now. These characters sound right when he writes them, even the minor ones. Dr Nemesis: “Oh, you’re only 14, Idie! Your intellect could not hope to comprehend. Just watch … INCREASE STORMINESS, STORM!”
@ mburns: go for it! been ready x-books forever – this badboy has a great slant to it…totally loving the ‘tensions’ between hope and cyclops. enjoy
This book has ruled in it’s entirety. So glad Gillen has control of Uncanny now also. Between this, Uncanny, X-Force, Age of X and the always amazing X-Force they are really stacking the deck in the Mutants favor recently.
Meant “always amazing X-Factor” – Bastards and their lack of an edit button.
