  1. I am going to enjoy the heck out of the remaining Lemire issues. I’ll be on for Kindt, but I will miss Lemire.

  2. Oh yeah, shit will hit the fan in S.H.A.D.E. city!

  3. Still lovin’ me some Frank and Creature Commandos. Just hoping this title can last past the next go-round of cancellations.

Glad to hear that Ponticelli is staying on board past Lemire. Looking forward to seeing what Kindt brings to the table!

    • I don’t think it made the top 100 which probably isn’t a good sign, hopefully it will stick around as I understand Kindt was involved in the early stages of the series, so should be able to keep it on this fun path

  4. It sucks that Lemire will be going away from the series, I might drop it. And I will admit I think that the invasion of the S.H.A.D.E City is happening way to fast.

  5. Great cover.

  6. I leave when Lemire leaves.

    • Drop what you want but it seems to me if you actually like the series you should at least give an issue written by Matt Kindt a try. According to Lemire he’s been talking plot and getting ideas from Kindt this whole time. Plus it’s the same artist. This could be the sort of transition we might not even notice if there were no credits.

    • Agreed. I am sticking around. For the life of me, I don’t know why it is not selling well. Ponticelli does it for me. He draws excellent monsters. While sad to see Lemire exit this book, it excites me to see where Kindt takes Frank.

    • Why would you do that? Lemire stated numerous times in interviews that he basically co-wrote Frankenstein with Matt Kindt from the start!!!

This book deserves your love, bro!

    • C’mon, Scorpion. Give it a shot. This book is brimming with potential, but it needs – nay, deserves – the numbers more than any other N52 that I can think of.

    • ScorpionMasada is a great proponent of only reading books based on who’s writing a book at a given time. He thinks its stupid to buy books based on characters. I will not be leaving when Lemire leaves. Lemire is good but its not as if he’s Warren Ellis or something.. and even then.. I like the frankenstein monster character so i will see how it is. You know.. as opposed to guessing how it will be.

    • I love this series.

But I love it because the writing works for me. If another writer I liked came in and started writing it, I’d continue.

I haven’t read any press on this book so I don’t know who the new writer is or what Lemire has said about the book.

However, I will give it an issue because your passionate and logical arguments have won me over, even the guy who took a shot at me. hahaha

  7. These covers, they just keep pulling me back in!

  8. These covers have been beyond stellar. J.G. Jones is one of the greatest cover artists of all time. Though I do wish he and Ponticelli had kept the locomotive gun from Seven Soldiers. One of the wackiest looking weapons I’ve ever seen.

I for one will be really disappointed if this title doesn’t make it at least another six issues. I honestly think the premise could make it to 100. It’s been one of my faves since the relaunch.

  9. This book is gold. I heard an interview with Matt Kindt regarding the series and I’m really excited to see what he does with it.

  10. Avatar photo Parri">Parri (@pazzatron) says:

Some great dialogue in this issue. Thought the art was uncharacteristicly hit & miss.
If DC wants to put out a Velcoro/Griffith buddy comedy I’d totally buy that.

  11. I wish Ponticelli was still doing his own inks.

  12. Ray Palmer Is a bad ass lol. Love this book.

  13. Another great issue. The inks were definitely a little wonky, but it still looked great. I love Ponticelli’s way of combining panels into one or two pages. It’s an old trick but when done well hit can really suck you right in.

I love this title. I hope it sticks around for a long time.
