  1. This series has been one of my surprise hits of the new 52, I’m glad I’ve been reading it.

  2. Yeah, even though it’s off to a bit of a slow start, I’ve really enjoyed every issue.

  3. This series has been pretty good, but I miss the family aspect of the JSA. Hope they get that feeling back again.

  4. I love the hell out of this book. Crafty writing, beautiful art – and this world is entirely self-contained (i.e. no annoying crossover events, no writers of other books contradicting what’s written this book, etc.).

Earth 2 isn’t at all what I hoped it’d be when they first announced it, but it’s something different which has surprised and entertained me, and it makes me excited to crack it open every month.

  5. I liked it in the beginning, but now I stopped buying it. I just perceive story and characterization as mediocre. Another example of the fact that Robinson, who is great on solo books, shouldn’t do team books.

  6. I was all about this series when it first started up, but with every issue, I’ve found myself getting less and less enthused. From the utili-kilt wearing Solomon Grundy to Green Lantern’s transcendental solution in the last issue, I’m not seeing anything that encourages me to keep coming back.

    • SPOILERS FROM #6:

You can’t kill Grundy yet you can’t let Grundy stay on earth. If you eliminate Grundy, the Grey becomes powerful again. The only option is exile on a barren wasteland. It was an elegant and cunning maneuver, IMO.

  7. Loving this series a lot. One of the best written and best drawn of the New 52.

    • Agreed don’t know what everyone is complaining about. It was a cunning plan, the only thing that was a bit silly was when he took down grundy and stopped the missle at the same time after losing a lot of energy from his ring. But other than that it’s excellent.

    • Admittedly, knocking the Nukes away AND throwing Grundy onto the moon at the same time was a bit much but, what else could the writer do? Atom wouldn’t stop the nukes (being a military man (and I think his betrayal of the World Army will come later in the series)). Neither Hawkgirl, nor the Flash, are really powerful enough to divert the nukes. I suppose Grundy could have batted them away but that would have castrated the World Army a bit (by making them look weak/ineffectual and unable to counter a global threat). So, unfortunately, it had to be Green Lantern. Let’s just call it cheesy and move on 😀

As for the complainers, I totally agree. I don’t understand their complaints. This is a team book set on another world. The writer has to spend time developing each character of the new Justice Society AND at the same time has to develop and showcase how Earth 2 is radically different than Earth 1. There’s no good way to do that other than taking it a bit slower than something like the Justice League (which has 8+ solo titles that can be used to world build and develop characters).

  8. Dropped as of #6. Did I even remember to buy #6?

Just didn’t do it for me. Maybe I’ll check out the trades.

  9. I like this story! Having a great time. Looking forward to seeing Mr. T!

  10. Each and all of Ivan Reis’ covers feature those blinding white teeth! and slightly goofy mouth postures.
But I’ve like Earth 2 so far, just get back to small ball please, enough with the CALAMITY!

  11. pretty good series so far.Hoping that Mr. T makes series even better.Mr. Terrific was great in JSA.I really enjoyed JSA with cyclone series was well written.I want to go back to that kind of JSA like the others said.

  12. Wow, i thought I’d miss Nicola Scott, but Yildiray Cinar is welcome to fill in anytime. Beautiful art!

  13. Sandmen appeared! Didn’t see that coming! I love the dynamic between Khan and Sloan, it’s gearing up to be quite the rivalry. Very enjoyable comic.

  14. I like what Robinson’s doing here. He’s obviously got a long term plan in mind. There’s a lot of world building happening in this book. My only concern is that the build is happening a little too slowly to keep my interest, but so far I’m still enjoying the read.

  15. Earth 2 is starting to lose it’s charm. I feel like every month I’m dropping another DC book.

  16. I’m loving it! More Sandmen!
