DEADPOOL AND CABLE #26

Cable is dead, and no one’s more devastated than his old friend and partner, Deadpool (a.k.a. Wade Wilson, a.k.a. the Merc With the Mouth, a.k.a. the guy who’s in pretty much every other solicit this month). Sitting by Cable’s grave, Deadpool struggles to find the perfect way to honor his fallen mutant pal. Then… light bulb! Deadpool remembers Rumekistan, the troubled and totally fictional European country that Cable once tried to turn into a Utopia on earth. Deadpool travels there to establish up a Cable museum! A Cable amusement park! A Cable cable TV show! But Rumekistan isn’t quite what it used to be, and Deadpool’s appearance only makes things worse. To set things right, Deadpool will have to do more than just honor his old friend — he must become him!

  1. Oh no.  Completism’s pull…  too…  strong…

  2. The last Deadpool/Cable issue was a lot of fun. Brought back a lot of fond memories of the original run with the two characters. But also, maybe it’s just me, I think it also is a place for Swierczynski to vent his frustrations on writing the CABLE series. Cause the preview for this issue definitely has some jabs about that run, and the X-Men now a days, in the first few pages.

  3. Prob gonna get this with Leandro Fernandez on it.

  4. Oh what a nice cover …

  5. @TheNextChampion  Since you mentioned the previews, I checked it out.  Fine.  I’m in…  again!  Does this series never end?  uh…Is Bishop chasing us again?

  6. Swierczynski has a great take on Deadpool, and this is seeming to harken back to themes in Cable/Deadpool…so I’m down.

  7. This was kooky but good.

  8. This was a fun issue, but it did seem to stretch a bit too long by the end. The constant flashbacks and jokes about the past run on Cable/Deadpool made me laugh. Also, the panel of the week for me is in this with the little kids trying to hold Cable’s BFG.

    4/5

  9. Dude. ‘Grand Theft Parsons’ reference.  Automatic pick of the week.
