  1. Deadpool as a pirate?

    Sure….why not?

  2. lul

  3. I woldnt mind this if the other deadpool series’ out now didn’t suck.

  4. fun book…everytime.

  5. yo ho ho and a bottle of mayhem!

  6. Amen

  7. no comment

  8. Sorry to get serious on this for a second. But we got a new artist for this! I don’t know who Shawn Crystal is; but I hope he’s good. Hopefully it isn’t a such a drastic departure from Medina’s pencils.

Pirates are cool by the way.

  10. @Champ- Medina has been KILLING on this book, so let’s hope we still have something pretty to look at while laughing.

  11. I love this series. Had to drop Merc with a Mouth, but I am sticking with this, the last three issues have been the best so far.

Pirates do nothing for me, but since it’s only two issues, some writers would try dragging this out for the next six months.

Also, if Daniel Way wanted to do a mini series about kid-Deadpool and Jr Bulleyes from the last issue I would buy that.

  12. So i havent bought any comics over the summer.  But i think i’ll be jumping back on this.  I saw a preview for 13.. Did DWay drop the inner monologue?

  13. @Zeppo As would I.

  14. I’ll give the solicitation props for basically being Pixies lyrics!

  15. Why do I have a feeling this is a bit outdated? Like this was planned out from the Somalia pirates that were such a big problem earlier this year.

    Plus why do I have a feeling I don’t care? 😉

  16. @ TheNextChampion

…because it’s about Pirates. I hear the word and I lose all interest after my girlfriend made me sit through the last Johnny Depp pirate film.

I am hoping for a lot of jokes aimed in Disney’s direction.

  17. i dropped this book after reading only 2 issues.

  18. The previous arc involving Bulleye/Hawkeye was the funniest stuff I’ve read in a long time.  I hope Way continues his good run.  I thought starting this book in the middle of Secret Invasion was a dumb move and I was going to drop it but I’m glad I didn’t. By now everyone knows of TNC disdain for Merc w/ a Mouth.  I liked it for what it was but I agree with TNC that it is know where near what this title has been.  I will probably drop it after the Headpool arc.  Keeping my fingers crossed that this is awesome.

  19. This was pretty good. Not as wacky as Way’s previous effort, but I still laughed at this. I like Crystal’s art in this and he would be a good replacement for Medina if….god forbid…he has to step down. Soild 4/5

  20. i felt like this was a totally different writer. I don’t think i found one line in the whole book that made me even chuckle. I was just telling my buddy at work today what a fun and great book this has been and then all the excitment i had for this pirate issue was completely destroyed with the first couple of lame "jokes". Big upset in my stack this week.

  21. @Fvckstick: You didn’t find the interaction between the Russians and Deadpool to be funny? I laughed a good bit with some of those exchanges.

  22. i gotta say this issue was a bit of a letdown for me. it seemed to be just an issue long setup to a punchline that we wont see untill the next issue

  23. @TNC: "I want to kiss you like man kiss woman" indeed funny stuff.

  24. This is probably the 4th month in a row i’ve nearly made Deadpool my pick of the week. I always read it first and because it’s so light hearted it always leaves me laughing.

I liked this book when it started, but I’m begining to love it. It’s not EPIC like Blackest Night, but not every comic needs to be, does it?

Deadpool is harmless fun (unless you’re Bob), I don’t normally go for this type of book, but I am happy to have Deadpool on my pull list.

  25. Now that’s what I call an issue of a Deadpool comic. Hilarious all the way through. I miss the art & pencils of Paco Medina & Juan Vlasco. But this style goes with the exotic island/pirate feel.

  26. i dont know what happend.  i like this book but this issue was kind of boring.  there were some good lines but bob wasnt great in this issue, and the whole concept felt a little forced(dont ask me what that means).  hears hopeing that it gets back on the path of funny soon.

  27. Wow, I’m surprised by so much negative reaction here! I thought this was the best/funniest issue in a while. I thought it proved what I have been saying for all along — take ‘Pool away from the rest of the Marvel U & let insanity reign & this character is at his best. This issue & the 2 part zombie story (both seperated from Dark Reigh etc) have been my favourites, but I think this is the funniest single issue of this whole series so far.

"Sooooo … you like unicorns? Also, check it out: I’m a pirate."

  28. Pirate Deadpool. Hmmm

  29. laughed at the "learning stick" but other than that…felt like it’s just going through the motions…
