  1. 3.99!? I’ll give the first issue a shot though

  2. That’s how much a good portion of comics cost now. It’s nothing new.

  3. Agents of Atlas is great. Exiles is great.

    I’m checking this out.

  4. That’s how much a good portion of Marvel comics cost now,

  5. Highly excited for this especially considering Jeff Parker’s involvement!

  6. @BrandonP: And many indie books and some DC books. So where is the confusion?

  7. I liked the preview. The Hood is one of my new favorite villains.

  8. I don’t have much history with the character, but I like what I’ve seen, particularly in the last Punisher arc. I’ll give this a shot since I’ve dug the other DR minis.

  9. @Conor

     No confusion. Just dissapointment.

  10. Jeff Parker is on a roll. Heres hoping he keeps it up.

  11. MMmm…think I’ll wait until you guys review this book before I pick it up. Love teh Jeff Parker but The Hood…beh.

  12. the new 3.99 price point on a lot of books has actually made me a more cautious shopper, I don’t totally mind it. I’m going to wait on this…if reviews are good, maybe, otherwise I’ll save the $4. I no longer care that books are 3.99 since it’s been good motivation for me to buy less.

  13. I think this is the point when I’ll stop careing about the Dark Reign mini-series. I’ve invested in Elektra and Bullseye, but thats all I think I can care for.

  14. This was good – it actually added a bit of nuance to the Hood. I’ll keep reading.

  15. Coltrane, I don’t think this book added nuance to The Hood so much as it restored the nuance the character had in the BKV mini-series. Since then he’s been treated as much more of a stock villian.

  16. @conor dude, get off ur high horse man.  people are probably still adjusting to the price.  why does it bother you so much when people complain?  we all have to buy the comics.  more money means less comics for a lot of people right now.

  17. Cuz it gets tiring to hear complaints about price.

It takes away from the dialogue about story and art.

And it is all pretty simple.

If you can’t afford the comic, don’t buy it.

OR (and this I suspect is the real thing)

If comics are not worth the money, don’t buy them.

I don’t spend my money on entertainment and then bitch about the money I spent on entertainment unless I am bitching about the quality of the product.

Going "3.99!" in every post makes me think that people don’t think comics are worth $3.99.

But the solution is simple. If comics are not worth $3.99, don’t buy them and don’t regret not buying them.

  18. This was pretty good.  I’ve gone from hating the Hood to almost liking him.

  19. I love it when a writer knows the difference between a protagonist and a hero.

  20. "Looks like he’s got money fallin’ outta his butt."  "Yeah, and we’re scoopin’."

Are you kidding me?  Some of the worst dialogue in comics.

  21. I don’t know if it’s the new Marvel coloring scheme suiting him, or just years’ worth of time to improve, but Hotz’s art is better and I’m digging it.

And I look forward to this Parker & Parker partnership.

  22. Meh.

  23. I gave this a 3. Would’ve been a 4 but I disliked the art. Great writing, though. The Hood is a badass.
