Bo howdy am i looking forward to this, the preview last month was amazing. Get this!:)
Hopefully this will ease the pain of Northlanders ending soon.
I know fuck all about Conan, but if you put Brian Wood and Becky Cloonan on a book, I will read the hell out of it, regardless.
I can’t think of one thing that would make this not amazing. Really excited.
Can’t wait for this! Will this be the first time Cloonan has done something in color?
Not even close. She’s done American Virgin at Vertigo, Nation X and Strange Tales at Marvel, some Buffy-verse work, and some Northlanders.
Right. I’m an idiot, I’ve actually read her Northlanders stuff.
I’ve been eagerly waiting for this ever since it was announced. I just read the original Robert E. Howard story and it’s great.
I love Becky Cloonan’s art.
Never read any Conan, but now that Wood’s on it, I’m trying this out.
A perfect jumping on point? Jeez, you don’t say.
Nerds ask about that shit. They take no chances.
Considering there’s a Conan mini out there and Conan: Road of Kings just ended, it’s a reasonable question.
I love both Wood’s and Cloonan’s work, so I’m hoping this will be really enjoyable.
Brian Wood Conan = Exciting
Do not fail me Wood!
That sounded vaguely dirty.
Conan and pirate women, sign me up.
Yes!
My fist Conan experience. Looking forward to this.
You never forget your first time.
Just decided to grab this last minute for tomorrow , hope it’s good
Wood + Cloonan = getting my money.
Can’t wait.
Very nice Becky Cloonan variant cover available! This is easily the book I am most excited for this week.
I am really looking forward to this run a lot. Conan: Road of Kings was a huge let down for me. It was easily the worst run of Conan at Dark Horse for me. I really like Wood’s writing so I have high hopes to return Conan to the high quality that Busiek & Truman had during their runs.
I can’t decide if I want to get this or not. I’m really not a Conan fan, but I do like Brian Wood, and I have a feeling this will probably end up being really good.
It’s very good. If you like Wood on Northlanders, you’ll dig this.
Damn you, now I have to check it out tomorrow at my LCS! I’m a hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Conan fan but I’m reticent to plunge into the comic books adaptations… I guess now is as good a time as ever, eh…
Never really read much Conan before. I’m glad I picked this up. Looking forward to following this series.
Becky Cloonan is like a fusion of steve dillon & cliff chiang. Amazing stuff.
I like Cloonan’s take on Conan. Its certainly not the iconic look we are used to (massive-hulking-barbarian-guy), he’s almost believable … Great start so far: Cool, sexy villain, Conan, sorcery, corrupt courts … and CROM!!!!! I’m on board.
made a special trip to my LCS just to pick up this issue and well worth it great starter feels like a conan book and wood tells it like 1 my only concern is thow the art is good beckys “conan” just dont feel like conan to me it dont look as rough , large or has the muscle definition as conan should
Wow what a great first issue! This was packed with content and great art and for now this being my first Conan comic I’m totally on board
The story is well done, but it was the art that pushed it over the edge for me as my POTW.
Finally got around to reading this – and it was FANTASTIC. I know this was a different Conan than some people would like or were expecting, but I am stoked for this take. Especially after reading Wood’s note at the back & what he plans to do with the characters.
I honestly thought this was a mini-series, but am so glad it’s gonna be a 25-issue story. 5/5
