  1. its a light week for me, and i’m a sucker for Iron Man

  2. I feel like I shouldn’t buy this but I just can’t resist.

  3. I know I’ll end up reading this because my friend is a huge fan of Carnage.

  4. Anyone one else have a problem with the CG art?  It’s hard to tell how much is CG and how much is pencil, but on the spectrum, it’s waaaaay too CG for my tastes.

That said, I’ll still buy it because I think Zeb Wells is a good writer and it’s been a while since I read a Carnage story.

  5. the preview sold me on this, i wasn’t sure but i read the preview on newsarama and it’s an awesome intro for the first issue

  6.  @ctroseir I want to get it but the art is something I dont care for.

  7. It’s a really light week for me so I’ll probably pick this up…but I’ll hate myself in the morning for it.

  8. I have fond memories of hunting down issues of maximum carnage and playing the sega game when I was 12.  I may have to get this.

  9. Man fond memories of Maximum Carnage? Maybe the game was okay but Jesus. When I was a kid I even knew that shit sucked. All I remember was Spider-Man being a dick for not letting Firestar killed Carnage who just happened to be murdering 100s of people. I’m not for the death penalty at all but come on. 100s of people! And to stop him, they instead find like a friendship machine or something. It was just awful.

  10. I’m not a fan of this cover, nor am I a fan of Crayton usually.

But there is a poster, a big one, which show’s Crayton’s take on Carnage…..That was amazing to look at.

  11. Comic is called Carnage but Carnage is absent from the cover?

  12. @sircox I guess you were just a lot cooler than me as a kid.  congratulations.

  13. @SirCox   Maximum Carnage was dope

  14. uhg, Carnage needs to stay dead.  Count me out

  15. I love Spidey and Iron Man, plus like mentioned before, its a light week.

  16. Yeah I bought this mostly for Iron Man/Spidey team up action. It was decent. I’m not a huge fan of Clayton Crain but the art worked here better than X-Force.

And I wasn’t trying to say I was cooler or anything. I’m just trying to say FRIENDSHIP MACHINE THING?

  17. @OnaSunday Missing for cover and all but last page as well.

come on guys… did you think you’d open the book and Carnage’d just BE there slashing peoples throats out and taming the avengers? No… they’re building the story back up to reintroduce the character. If you think about it, the word "Carnage" was only said one time in the entire comic, but its forboding because you know what’s coming especially with the reappearance of Dopple-Ganger. Which actually makes a very good point. I was very VERY confused as to how Dopple-Ganger came back, even though i was ecstatic to see him again. He’s a E-list Spidey-villian at best (nobody who doesn’t read comics even knows who carnage is let alone DOPPLE-GANGER) and they just threw him out there to be gobbled up before he was beaten right back down. You CANNOT do that with a fan-favorite like Carnage. Dramatic tension is being created, the setting or mood, if you will. I think we’ll have a bit more face time with the symbiote at least next issue and I, for one, CANNOT wait.

Too soon to tell if this story is solid (although i thoroughly enjoyed the ish)
but the Art gets a 10/10 for me. The edgy sloppiness works with any spidey comic 1 because he’s thin and flexible and 2 because it makes the webbing seem so much more organic and real to me.

  19. I’m quite puzzled to how the Maximum Carnage story hasn’t been followed up to this point in time. I mean, that story was really popular back in the day, right?

Pretty decent start, though I think I’ll enjoy this more as the story gains a bit more momentum later on.

  20. I bought this out of curiousity beacause I love the Maximum Carnage story. If I remember right Carnage was ripped in half by the Sentry so I was puzzled as to how he would come back. I would have thought the the host Cletus was dead and the symbiote found a new one.  I joked with someone in the LCS that they’d bring Carnage back as a women because that seems to be a very popular move these days.

I liked the Clayton Crane art. He actually makes Doppleganger look scary and believeable. I was glad to she shriek make an appearance and hope that the Demogoblin shows up too.

  21. I bought this and enjoyed it. I have a soft spot for Carnage, not for Maximum Carnage, but the original arc he appeared in and that INSANE Warren Ellis one shot in the 90s(I will ignore the story were he gets a computer game made after him and he uses the internet to send tendrils of his symbiote to kill people). I also love Zeb Wells. It was neat seeing villians I haven’t seen in forever. Interested to see where this goes.

  22. Man, I STILL remember trying desperately to track down all the issues of "MAXIMUM CARNAGE" and thinking Doppelganger was incredibly random but cool-looking 🙂

Great first issue, looking forward to seeing where the series heads next.

  23. @ctrosejr Ah, but this kicks the ass of the CG art in Spider-Man: Quality of Life (Lizard mini from years ago).
