I have been a fan of Spiderman most of my life. The first comic storyline I read as a kid was Maximum Carnage. Yes I know, A lot of people hate the cheezy story and it is what many would say is a bad 90’s comic story (like the clone saga), but it does hold a place in my heart so of course I love Carnage. After he “died” in New Avengers I just waited for Cletus Kasady’s big return to the Marvel Universe. However this may not happen because if this story arc. Carnage the Mini-Series is a 5 parter intro to the new Carnage. What!? a New Carnage. Even if I hated Marvel’s Big Plan for a new Carnage I said “ok lets see how this is.” So I got the first issue. Now for one thing , the art is not great. It is very dark on some pages and is hard to make up what the hell is going on. This is the same team that did that Venom/Carnage series that gave us Toxin, so I knew the art would be like this. The flow of the story was slow at first and picked up a little bit in the middle. I wouldn’t think that Ironman would fit into a story that had Carnage in it. Sadly we don’t see the to face off…yet atleast. The whole thing with Doppelganger was I guess ok if I know a little bit more on what the hell is going on. I think if there was more info givin in this issue the story would not hurt my head so much. Maybe after a couple of issue this roadblock of “what” moments can be explained better.  The ending did however show (maybe) who the new Carnage would be. And without spoiling it lets just say this person was in Maximum Carnage and may do justice to the crazy that is Carnage. We won’t know until the next issue ,but I would say pick it up if you are a fan of the 90’s Carnage, or just a fan of carnage as a bad guy in the Marvel U.
