  1. Only reading this for Deadman now

  2. Read the preview.  Who knew eating a cheeseburger could be so exciting!  Looking very much forward to this.

  3. They lost me a few issues ago, but the last one was so good that it drew me back in. NOW, let’s get on with the story, pick up the pace, and start seeing stuff actually happen (as opposed to hints that there may at some point be a cohesive story).

  4. I’m still liking this. Maybe its because I came in with no expectations even after the actionfest that was Blackest night. I have found each issue good and interesting.

    Generation Lost is better though.

  5. This has been disappointing but its the only place to read Hawkman right now.

  6. Im surprised theres not been more people digging this, Ive loved every issue so far and in some ways enjoyed it a little more than Blackest Night, which was amazing.

  7. This is the make it or break it issue for me. I was going to drop it after the last issue, but "The Secret of the White Lantern" has got me one more issue.

  8. $20 says this is all Hawkman.

  9. @Shaunbat I think it’s because of blackest night that people have such a short leash for this one.  The build up for BN was about a year 10 months for all of BN to come out and then they leave us with new questions and few answers and another long story.  I think if there had be a one issue break in GL and GLC this might be a little better received.

  10. @Damon I like the long build up though.  Gives me something to look forward to.

  11. @damon. I thought that’s why we read comics. BD has been a great series so far. I’m hooked like a junkie. I thought about the usual comment "too many plot lines" and I started to reconsider. BUt then I started noticed that our TV shows ALL have mulitple plot lines that pull you back in week after week. Its the same here. Johns is doing a great job writing this. It seems tht people don’t know what they want in comics anymore and hate on pretty much anything.

  12. I loved this issue. We got to see all of the twelve. And a peek at who might be the villains of the piece. Captain Boomerang’s directive from the White Lantern was the best.

  13. If Maxwell Lord really does what the lantern tells him, he will totally become DCU’s greatest hero.

  14. that first page alone was my pick of the week.

  15. first issue that seems to have a real focus. art is top notch the whole issue.

  16. Loved it. Makes the first six even better once you see where it’s heading. My money is on Barry to be “the one”.

  17. Eh.

People really seem to love this. 66% POW so far. Very mediocre to me. This is really something for hard core DC people, I guess.

  18. Anyone know if that reverse-flash is the one from the end of Rebirth or the end of Blackest Night?

  19. @Hobley Yes its the same guy. That’s why his job’s done and he gets to live.

  20. Pretty solid.  I liked that we got a mission summary for each character (though I wasn’t particularly fond of some of the missions) and an overall goal.

  21. I forgot about Jade being back. Where has that been playing out? Has she had any weird black lantern side effects like all the other returnees have had (e.g. Black Boomerangs, MM killing plants, etc)

  22. @JaqueNargg  Jade has been heavily featured in the JLA JSA crossover thats happening right now, it’s about to wrap up if i’m not mistaken.

I lovedwhat the white lantern said to Zoom. Awesome.

  23. @hobley, my understanding of it is that after Rebirth they put him in Iron Heights like that. He was brought back to life after Blackest Night (remember there was a corpse of him running around) so that he could eventually come back in time to free Barry from the speed force. It’s just that at the time that everyone else was getting their white visions, Zoom had already completed his task. Time travel is confusing.

  24. The Zoom that came back at the end of Blackest Night went back to start shit in Flash: Rebirth. So the Zoom we see now is the one that was captured after Rebirth.

Pretty sweet issue. Granted the main appeal of it is that we get answers, but they were interesting answers.

  25. Really enjoyed this. I’ve actually enjoyed every issue to varying degrees, from "yeah that was ok" to "wow, that was cool". This one fell well towards the cool end of the scale.

I’m interested to see where they take it from here.

  26. @j206: Or, it’s just not for you.

  27. @conor: Oh, totally.

Yeah, I guess It’s not my thing. I used to not read any DC besides Batman. Then I read Johns’ entire GL run as well as GLC, along with Blackest Night and most of the Blackest Night tie ins. And lately Johns’ Flash. And I thought I was starting to get in to the greater DCU. Then came Brightest Day. I have zero interest in these characters really. Maybe if they were background characters to a more compelling story like Blackest Night and GL. But the Hawk people, Aqua Man, and Firestorm? Eh…

  28. I’m totally digging Brightest Day but I would have loved a decompression period.  I loved reading Secret Origin for Green Lantern after  the epic Sinestro Corps War.

  29. Dropped this book after 3 issues due to hightened levels of boredom. Picked this one up due to all the hype and was blown the eff away! Ivan Reis needs to be back on a book, I don’t care if he is icing his hand down constantly after Blackest Night!

  30. Why is the White Entity so deliberately cryptic? He seems to know a lot, understand a lot. Maybe if talking to him wasn’t less informative than a fortune cookie people could do what he wanted.
