BATWOMAN ELEGY DELUXE EDITION HC

In her first hardcover, collecting tales from DETECTIVE COMICS #854-860, Batwoman battles a madwoman known only as Alice, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, who sees her life as a fairy tale and everyone around her as expendable! Batwoman must stop Alice from unleashing a toxic death cloud over all of Gotham City – but Alice has more up her sleeve than just poison, and Batwoman’s life will never ever be the same.

  1. I very rarely buy something I already own in single issues…but I loved these issues so much I am tempted.

  2. Yeah, same. I have to admit I’m pretty disappointed with the cover though.

  3. ALL OVER MY FACE

  4. @Zeppo I’m with you – this will be the first thing I’ve ever read in issues, that I’m also buying in collected format.

  5. I wonder how DC Comics is going to collect the last three issues of Rucka’s run.

  6. I’m with…erm…everyone else. I own the issues and I’m tempted to own this. Dang.

  7. @jackietam

I heard they are going to release a Hardcover with every issue collected.

But don’t take my word on that.

  8. It’ll be nice to have this in collected form

  9. @bryce31 a hardcover for just three issues? sounds exactly what DC would do, and probably charge 24.99 for the heck of it.

  10. I think he meant the full Rucka run together including the last 3 issues

  11. I didn’t read this in issues because I wasn’t reading and still dont read Detective Comics, but about  half-way through this arc (I thumbed throug the issues as it was coming out) I knew I would be wanting the collected edition.  It will probably be a while before I get around to buying this, but it is officially ‘pulled’.

  12. They’re probably going to collect the three other issues with the next Batwoman hardcover (with the new JH stuff).

  13. @nawid Conjecture? you’re better than that :p

  14. That’s typically how they do this sort of thing though. I’m citing the Dini Hush Two-Parter post-RIP as a my previous example. And DC tends to not do very small trades. So either they package it with some crap we don’t want or the first arc of the new Batwoman stuff. I think the latter is more reasonable.

Though I didn’t really like that arc very much to be honest.

  15. Neither did I.  I’m actually glad they left it out.  Can’t wait to get my copy of this.

  16. I’m another person who will be doing a first by getting single issues in collected edition. The art is just too beautiful not to.

  17. I think that cover looks great. Really different, and funky typography, but it matches the style of the comic.

I missed the boat on this run, and by the time i heard enough good about it, it was half over. Been waiting for this for a while….

  18. Have the issues, buying this and if they do an Absolute of this in a few years, I’ll buy that too.

  19. Is this something you can jump right into without being familiar with Batwoman, or is there something that would act as a nicer primer for the character before reading this?

  20. You could enjoy this all by itself.  Terrific story, terrific art.

  21. @jwaesch – It includes her origin story, so you should be fine.

  22. DCBS discount is 50% so I sent a hopeful email seeing if I can add this and Beasts of Burden to my orders past due.

  23. I can’t wait to pick this up this weekend and my LCS is having a 50% back issue sale and Iam buying up the good stuff and Iam sure I might spend about $100.00 at my LCS this Saturday 🙂

  24. Absolutely perfect
