I don’t understand…Why didn’t they just put this in th Astonishing X-Men regular title? (other than $) I don’t know if I’m getting this.

I think it’s because they want the Ellis/Bianchi run to be a solid, uninterrupted thing. I probably wouldn’t have done it this way either if I was in charge of these kinds of things, but whateva’. Look at it this way though: It’s WARREN ELLIS, ALAN DAVIS, AND FRANK CHO! I don’t think I’m the only one around here who is sold based on the creative team alone.

This seems like a rip-off. The ghost box seems like it should certainly be in Ellis’s Astonishing continuity.
Still, it seems intriguing.
Not intriguing enough for me to buy extra story that exists just to earn a buck.
Agreed with everyone on here; sounds interesting but too much money for something that SHOULD be in the regular comic.
But Alan Davis on a X-Title? Geez Ron must be having heart palpatations right now.
This practically IS part of the regular title. Has anyone else noticed that Astonishing #28 is set for a January release? It’s the Whedon Curse, I tell ya…

Well, if the next ‘Astonishing’ isn’t coming out for a few months, and this is two issues. . .they aren’t really asking us to buy extra stuff. I suspect this was all supposed to be the same series at first and they messed around with the numbering because of the different artists. I bet it all ends up in the same trade.
@ohcaroline: Well your right, I mean if these two issues are setting us up for #28 then it’s fine. But why couldnt they just number this 28 and go on with the series? It just doesnt make practical sense why they didnt number this on a regular issue instead of a seperate series.
I was going to wait for the trade on this one, but dude…Alan Davis. And the whole "ghost boxes" thing actually sounds more interesting than I originally thought.
@TheNextChampion – Because 1) Different artists. Theyprobably want things to flow smoothly in trade format, and 2) the Ghost Boxes mini explores a different aspect. Astonishing is focusing on what IS happening, whereas Ghost Boxes (accoring to the solicitations) is to focus on what COULD be. Make sense?

Seriously I do….but still I would’ve perfered this to be part of the actual Astonishing because you could somehow do a ‘What If?’ storyline in the regular title.
Steampunk X-Men was pretty awesome.

here I was, hoping for an Alan Davis issue, and all I got was a few pages.
I have a felling this is to fill up a gap inthe release of the next few books because of artist dealays but i"m not complaining because i think the topic could use some more background, and lets face it I am feening for a good X book! don’t let m down you Bastards!!!

Wow I can’t believe I paid $4 for a script and a couple of pages of mediocre comic. Fail.
This just came out in the UK. I didn’t buy it and have canceled Astonishing X-men!
