  1. Enjoying this crossover.

  2. This is the last tie-in issue that it is mandatory to buy. Read the solicitations for next issue and it’s an epilogue story. The full blown conclusion will be in justice league.

  3. Anyone ele think that the Arrow TV show should be advertising the comic books and not the other way around?

  4. The covers by Barrows have been pretty good so far. I need more to see whether I like Pelletier to be interior artist though. If he doesn’t work out I hope they’ll give Barrows a chance.

  5. This has been a great cross-over so far. I’m also enjoying the addition of Paul Pelletier to the Aquaman team!

  6. I think I like Pelletier. I was thinking his art somewhat resembles Mark Bagley’s, which makes sense because Art Thibert is on inks. I was a little worried for the art with Reis leaving, but Aquaman is going to be just fine.

  7. I didn’t care for Pelletier’s work on the last issue. It’s competent enough, but generic. But following Reis would be a tough act for anyone.

I’m enjoying this crossover a lot more than I thought I would. Good stuff.

  8. Mi amor.

  9. I have no idea how Geoff Johns & Paul Pelletier managed to get so much in one issue, but I felt as if I’d been reading this one for hours! (and I mean that in a good way)…

    **SPOILERS**

I really felt sad over Victor’s sacrifice in this one as well. Some of the last fully ‘Human’ components of his body had to go in order to save his friends…

But, on the plus side, he can now breathe in space and survive in the deepest part of the oceans! AND he can ‘BOOM?’ Vic is truly a superhuman now, on the same level, powers-wise, as the rest of the team.

Also, that dream he had was totally heartbreaking.

Now, WHEN are we gonna get that Cyborg solo book? Even Vibe has a book now, its getting insulting…

  10. Wow. This was really good. Talk about a bang for your buck.

I wasn’t exactly in love with Pelletier before, but he really killed this issue. Between the recent issues of this and JL, Johns has reminded me what makes him so great. Just when I was starting to lose faith, he whips this story outta nowhere. I’ve really enjoyed this crossover. It’s action packed, high stakes, and most importantly it evolves the universe and expands the roster in a believable way. I was looking forward to JLA before, but now I’m really excited.

Batman Inc. was my POTW, but this was a five-star issue all the way.

QUESTION: For those who actually read Savage Hawkman, who is the tiny person hanging on Carter’s shoulder? I thought Ray Palmer was still in S.H.A.D.E.?

    • I agree with everything you said, good sir. Well put.

This is my POTW, no question. Ther may have been better books, but this was just too damn fun.

  11. I have to say that Aquaman without Reis leaves me cold. I think I’m off this series. This issue felt like a promotion for the JLA anyway.

  12. Outstanding. Pelletier nailed it. I particularly liked his Trench monsters and his Hawkman. Very vicious. He and Thibert are a good team.
Johns(as usual) is killing it. Absolutely MURDERING it. Dismembering it and wrapping it in plastic. I uphold my opinion that he is the best I’m the biz. I consistently love Green Lantern, Justice League, Aquaman and I can’t wait for his JLA.
Throne of Atlantis is shaking up to be the best thing going on right now and I am making some happy plates. More, please. 😀

  13. This is the one where crap hits the fan -in a good sense. The league expands, the trench returns, Aquaman and friends make nice, and the big baddie is revealed. Great set-up for the conclusion of the crossover. Johns better not back down from having Mera join the League.

  14. Awesome issue. There is some really great artwork in this issue. It seems wherever Johns goes he brings good artists with him.
