  1. So why are they ending this format?  Seemed to be working to me.

  2. I am looking forward to this issue.  Good line up of talent.  Should be fun, hopefully with each writer wrapping up loose threads from their respective issues.

@Grandturk: All things must come to an end.  Personally, I am looking forward to the Slott / Big Time era.  I am excited about ONE writer, which will give the stories a unified feel and direction.  I am excited the return of the Hobgoblin.  I am excited about the fact that this new storyline will be a departure of the status quo: Peter will (finally) have some money; he’s going to put that brain of his to work and invent some new suits; and he has a new love interest (for better or worse.)   In general, it feels like Slott is bringing a lot of creative energy to Spider-man, which is sorely needed.  I was telling a friend last week that this is the most excited I have been about Spider-man since the the clone saga.  (Think of that what you will.)

  3. It’s still the same amount of pages per month, simple math.  60+ pages either way, so you’re not getting less.  Now, you get more pages per issue.  (Starting next issue)

Slott is the best ASM writer when it comes to 2 important aspects: 1. Originality/ideas.  2. Tone.

His input or originality into his storylines fall more in line with what Lee/Ditko/Romita/Kane established in their 110 issue run.  They were always creating new villains, characters, and Slott has pulled perfectly from that playbook in creating original ideas, and in doing so never repeating what has come before.  Yet STILL maintaing the perfect tone that makes this book what it has been for 45 years.  His scripting is tighter than any other ASM writer in the last 3 years.  Look at any of his past issues and you’ll easily see how his stories and plots stand out as "Memorable" and clearly in his style.

  4. So ready for Big Time to get kicked off. Most excited for the new suits.

  5. I like Djurdjevic, but I am ready for some new covers. What is this, a hextych?

  6. Speaking of which, are these Djurdjevic covers available in a poster?  That would be cool?

  7. @ctrosejr: I was thinking of putting them together myself, I don’t think I’m going to be clamoring to re-read this run very often.

  8. I really like the McNiven variant cover. Sad to see BND end but am more excited (that I thought I would be) for Big Time to get cranking.

  9. Also sad to see bnd run end but I love slott, so that will be fun

  10. $4.99 !!!??  Are you out of your cotton picking mind?!

  11. @robbydzwonar: 64 pages

  12. 64 pages? Are they out of their cotton picking minds?

Say, that expression sounds slightly racist or at least condescending to a class of people. People who pick cotton are just looney, silly people. I use it myself completely devoid of class or race content, just because it sounds colorful and ridiculous. But it makes you think.

  13. Can’t wait for this book to gain some consistancy! Bring on the Era of Slott!

  14. This issue was amazing. Everything wrapped up nicely, while still leaving room for future avenues. AND!! There was very little child-level azaceta art to be found! =D

  15. this was awesome. lots of bang for your buck

  16. When you see how good MJ is with Peter, like you see in this issue, it really makes me wish Marvel would just let them be together. 🙁

  17. The baby dressed as doc oc stole this issue.  The last one where he’s reaching for that Mia chick’s chest was hilarious.

  18. Excited for ‘big time’ but i really am going to miss BND.  It was so fun.
