  1. Bachalo’s come a long way since Death: The High Cost of Living. Super stylized and cool.

  2. Dig on that cover.

Reading this in hardcover so don’t have much more to add.

  3. i just love the title of this arc, so simple and so perfect

  4. I am looking forward to reading the last 2 issues when my DCBS box arrives next week.

  5. Mmmm, the binge of DCBS box. I finally switched to bi-weekly a few months back from monthly, less because I couldn’t wait, but the binge factor was too huge. There is such a thing as too many comics at once.

  6. I found the last issue to be beyond fantastic – I’m so excited for the next chapter!

  7. I said it last thread and i will repeat… Give this team its own ongoing cause they make comic greatness.

  8. Last issue was reall good as seems to be the case more often than not with ASM these days. Not a huge lizard fan but bachalo is knocking a good zeb wells script

  9. I think that after this arc I’m going to try to switch to hardcovers or trades only on ASM.  Mainly because I find that I’m more and more distracted by those pesky ads.  I was reading the hardcovers/trades from the library and now I’m too used to the seamlessness of the story and art without ads.  I think I’m going to do the same with fantastic four.

Does anyone else have the same problem I do with ads?  It seems like a constent dilemma/setback for me.

maybe I’m just being difficult though.

  10. It bothers me too.  I guess its a necessary evil of our addiction.  You’re right though.  Trades and HC’s kick ass.

  11. @vadamowens- yeah. But without sounding too self righteous I guess that’s why I want to get away from it.  Especially with marvel and DC books it feels more like an addiction and its not fair to have to deal with it.  I don’t seem to mind as much if the ads are for other books; and I wouldn’t mind at all (no matter what the advertisement) if they would just put them in the back of the damn book (props to Image for doing that)

  12. I generally don’t see the ads unless they are between two strongly linked pages. That said Non of them hold relevance for me becuase I am british and hardly any of the products are available here.

As far as the comic goes. I could read Zeb Wells and Chris Bachalo every month. So good. ASM is always in my top 5 books (apart from the clone story arc a while back) and is in my top 3 atm.

  13. @jwaesh I don’t think that’s self-righteous at all:)

  14. I hate Bachallo art but I love where this story is going. also Joe Kelly is writing the final arc. It going to be great

  15. I love the covers of SHED, but the interior pseudo-anime style art is killing me.  Everyone looks super young (even Aunt May) and have goofy eyes.  Bleh.

  16. Great issue, I was a little worried about the art but turns out I rather liked it!

  17. Bummed about Bachalo not on the art completely but not a bad overall issue.

  18. Man, this was F’d up. Great issue, but not quite 5 stars

  19. No wonder Bachalo only drew half of this issue…those scales must have taken a long time.

    Holy cow!

  21. I don’t have a problem with Bachalo, and I actually really like Emma Rios, but I had a serious problem following the story in this issue. There were too many murky close-ups in thin panels. I couldn’t see what anyone was doing.

  22. WTF ASM WTF. If anyone of the staff read this please add one of the pannels at the end as panels of th eweek

  23. @BrianBaer – my thoughts exactly, really hard to follow the panels.  I got the gist of it, but it could have been clearer.

  24. Did….did the Lizard just eat his kid???

  25. Avatar photo Arrrggghhh (@Arrrggghhh) says:

This is by far the best Lizard story I have ever read.  Never really liked the character . . . seemed the worse Lizard could do was whip you with his tail. But this story and the fantastic artistic styling of Bachalo has made the Lizard one of the creepiest Spidey villains.

  26. Bachalo is a mixed bag for me. I couldn’t tell what was happening in a lot of the lizard panels.

  27. Is this the second Marvel character to eat their own family in recent years? I seem to remember Wolfsbane doing it in X-Force. Bestial Transformation Familial Cannibalism – The Marvel Way.
