That Gene Colan piece is incredible!
I miss Gene Colan already 🙁
I know I said it in the Week in Panels thread, but Chris Samnee’s art looks a lot like Matt Wagner. Love it!
can we please get a Skottie Young Muppets book? pretty please?
Wow, hard to pick a favorite out of this group…..great stuff.
I love Game of Thrones! Also Chris Samnee on Captain America has been a dream come true!
Judging by the hat and those slabbed books (the blasphemy!), I think the Tony Moore sketch is a Marvel zombie.
Since Miller isn’t doing Sin City anymore, can Mike Hawthorne takeover?
Damn, Ryan Ottley draws the craziest things.
I love the timing of this column and the sketches. We just got the goodbye Oracle sketch, and now this Conner Kent one. Goodbye jeans and t-shirt superboy!
That Colan piece is gorgeous. Love Hawthorne’s Bride, too.
Man, I love this weekly feature so much! Such a treat.
Zombie Nerd is disturbing….and awesome.
Wow. Gene Colan. Wow.
Phil Noto is so on top of my fave artist list because of that Tyrion art!
@Xeno agreed
half a boobie…………..epic
To quote Booger in Revenge of the Nerds, ” We have bush, we have bush!”
That Gene Colon is EPIC and zombie geek is very neat.
That small pic doesn’t do Ottley justice.
@onetone It really doesn’t. Click on the link to his site and check out the full one. I just have a size format for this piece, and I try to stick with it.
The scene and emotion in Chantler’s Superboy moment is tough to beat.
But the way Noto has with drawing women comes pretty close.
R.I.P Gene, thanks for the years of amazing u work.
That Gene Colon one is perfect. Miss him already.
See now that is a great sketch by Eric Canete.
Why his interior work can’t look like that more often is a mystery to me.
anyone else notice how the Gene Colon Hercules looks strangely like Peter Dinklage the actor who plays Tyrion Lannister? Only…bigger?
The angle on Colon’s Thor/Herc is timeless and is a prime example of classic comix sketching withe depth perception, its amazing how talented and diverse artists there are in the medium.
