To close out the evening, here’s some nightmare-fodder from Batman, Swamp Thing and American Vampire writer Scott Snyder. Scott’s unique vantage point at today’s SDCC Batman panel—and some surprise SWAG—made this following photo a chilling and irresistible possibility.
He calls it the “highlight of [his] career.” We call it: “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! OH GOD!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!”

Unbelievable picture. Would be amazing to be there. Snyder has truly added to the mythos and created a real ‘moment’ feeling with Court of Owls. Just think how good the buzz will be when they return somewhere down the line?

Does anyone know who (in a general sense) coordinated that? As in, was it a surprise to Snyder? That WOULD be a career highlight.
According to his Twitter feed, he knew there was a mask giveaway at least in the hours leading up to the panel. He teased it as an incentive for people to attend.
I made it just in time to grab a spare seat, super glad I did. Already used the mask to scare a friend! Panel was great as well, all the writers seemed genuinely excited about their books, and Scott Snyder’s energy is infectious. He really is a Rock Star right now, reminds me of Geoff Johns at panels when he was first starting to become recognized.
