Roberson References The Superhero Dictionary

If you read Superman #709 this week you may have noticed that Lex was in detention for a very odd crime. Namely, the theft of forty cakes. This crime was pulled directly from the pages of The Superhero Dictionary (see below for Conor's explanation). Chris Roberson, writer and Superman nerd extraordinaire, told me about this awhile ago but I was sworn to secrecy. Now that it has been revealed I can show you the source and the panel in Superman #709 that adds a silly dictionary entry into DCU canon.

Below is the iFanoby video episode in which Conor enjoys his copy of the Superhero Dictionary containing the memetic entry.

Just something to make you smile on your way into the weekend.

  1. It must be sad that this is the only good thing mentioned about this entire storyline so far….

But it’s a great reference none the less.

  2. That’s brilliant!

  3. @TNC – It was a fine issue. Roberson is trying to finish a suboptimal storyline started by JMS, can’t fault the guy for having a little fun with it. (I know you knew all that, but I just wanna be fair to my boy, Roberson.)

  4. “When no one was looking, Lex Luthor took forty cakes. He took 40 cakes. That’s as many as four tens. And that’s terrible.”

    Poetry.

    Bloody poetry.

  5. Does this mean the entire dictionary is now canon?

  6. I don’t even

  7. When I read the Superhero Dictionary entry, I hear the voice of Charles Barkley.

  8. @BetaRayRyan  OMFG! You just made my entire night!

  9. @betarayryan… best comment ever!

  10. @BetaRayRyan  @joeislive

It’s the next day and I’m STILL laughing about that one!

  11. @JohnVFerrigno  You’re welcome.
