PHOTO: The Cast of Fox’s LOCKE & KEY Pilot

USA Today has the first image from Fox's Locke & Key pilot featuring the core Locke family. From left to right: Sarah Bolger (Kinsey), Miranda Otto (Nina), Jesse McCartney (Tyler) and Skylar Gaertner (Bode). Also pictured: an ominous box marked "Rendell" (the late patriarch of the Locke clan). We'll also see Nick Stahl as uncle Duncan.

Production on the pilot began in and around Pittsburgh in February, and Fox makes the final decision in May whether we''ll be seeing twelve episodes of the series in the Fall and Winter.

High hopes for this one as the original IDW series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez is the best ongoing comic around and the script for the pilot is terrific.

Check out my review of said pilot script.

  1. Awesome! I love the comics so I’m really looking forward to the show, Though, at this rate, in a few years 95% of all TV dramas will be based on comics.

  2. Having just read the first trade, they look pretty good! I like it! (In particular, I like who appears to be the Time Lady Romana in the back on the left!)

  3. The show could be incredibly creepy if they have an SFX budget and infuse nice suspenseful directing.

But judging from the picture above and noting how the flannel jacket has about an eight of a point the wrong shade of brown its brutally obvious this show will suck. ha!

  4. I’d really like this show to work – but based on this picture, the only character that seems like she might fit is Miranda Otto. That doesn’t matter though, the characters don’t have to look exactly like their comic counterparts for a comic like this.

I can’t imagine that this show will actually be good and/or creepy however. Might be entertaining and fun, but I really have to think it’s going to be lite and poorly produced. I’m just thinking of bad horresque shows that have been on the CW and Fox and Abc Family in the past few years. It won’t make it.

  5. Just recently caught up on this after hearing so much praise. Fun book. Would be neat to see the show picked up.

  6. Best comic series out there and I hope the TV show is just as good.

  7. @heylook  -i can’t believe you are making judgements off of that photo. There is nothing to go off of. bunch of reactionary comic book geeks on this site i tells ya. =p

  8. The little boy has kind of a Danny Torrance thing going.

  9. I am always leery of children actors. They rarely impress. Here’s to hoping.

  10. I completely forgot this was being made.

  11. @heylook  you cant imagine how the show will look or be good? based off one photo? LMAO a little much dont you think?

lets get a preview or a trailer and then we can bug out hhaha.

  12. @Jon: You took my comment!

Seriously though that kid is scarily like Danny from The Shining

  13. did you guys even read my comment? I said based on the photo they don’t look like their comic counterparts – but that doesn’t matter. the show could still work in concept. the reason it won’t work is because the book is high concept and creepy. and whenever fox tries to do high concept and creepy, it doesn’t work. unless it’s the x-files, and that was a long time ago.

the second paragraph implied a second thought.

  14. I only read the first volume of this series and don’t really remember it but OMG Miranda Otto.  *sold*
