Fantastic Four is out this week and I am very close to being ready to proclaim that it is Marvel's best book. It needs just a few more issues. In other news, Powers is back with a new #1 (even though the last issue of the last volume was really the best series capper I can imagine that book having)! And for all you J. Michael Straczynski Thor fans, this week's his last issue (at least I assume it is). If you've been waiting to check out what all the hubbubb is about this Chew book, this is your week — the first trade featuring #1-5 is out alongside #6. And there are some books out this wseek called Blackest Night, Green Lantern, Superman: Secret Origins and Detective Comics out too. I dunno, you may or may not have heard of them.

Crazy week! Iron Man, Chew and Criminal have me quite excited. As well as a little book called Blackest Night.
BQ: Traveling a whole hour to my uncle’s pad to hang out with the whole family. First time together with everyone since my grandpa passed away. I can’t wait to see them all and for the shenanigans to commence.
Not a big week, only 5 books. But there is a shit load of incredible quality to all of them.

BQ: In an effort to avoid travel and make everything "easier," my wife volunteered to host two Thanksgivings, one for each of our families, despite the fact that neither of us has ever, technically speaking, cooked a turkey.
It may be a long week.
Total I will have spent just under $50 this month on comics. Compare that to my friends who smoke, and I feel much better about my life.
BQ: I’m sleeping in my apartment so that I can be ready to get up early and buy a blu-ray player on Friday.
Holy crap – THIRTY books this week! Good thing we’ll have an extra day to read them.
BQ: NYC Parade in the morning with my nieces, then dinner at my 2 bedroom condo with 13 people 2 babies and 6 dogs. I plan to drink heavily.
For me, this is a big week but I’m really excited for every last one.

BQ: Friends come to our house for turkey day. We all have relatives who are too far away to visit, and thus band together here. Plus all the respective kids have a great time playing together.

Dammit! Why is this week so big? It seems like it’s only been two or three weeks since the last huge ass week.
Holy heck, that’s a week and a half. I’ve got something like 25 books this week including at least one trade….and I haven’t had time to finish last week’s stack. Aaaagh
BQ: Not so much, being in blighty. But hoping that the ifanbase all enjoy their turkey day….
It’s a Ron week? Uh oh. Things are about to get entertaining.
Wowie – not to mention the Winter Men trade is finally coming out. I nevah thought I’d see the dahy.
But seriously, it’s brilliant.
BQ: Dinner with Dad’s side of the family, lunch with mom’s side, maybe another meal with karate instructor’s family. A lot of food will be consumed, however you slice it.

Going to the girlfriends house…and her ten year HS reunion. Both are firsts.
Still waiting for someone to explain to me exactly why Chew is the second coming? Seriously, any takers? I read the first four issues – breathed a meh for this one-trick pony full of casting cliches and some interesting art – and then traded them all in for a Giant Size X-Men #1.
Intentionally provacative prediction: Less than one year from now Chew will have gone the way of Emissary and other Image books which at first glance appear fun and deep and turn out to be one-dimensional.
And just to cover my ass a little bit I am a big Image fan. Fell – when it was being published – may have been my favorite book and I am a huge fan of Bad Dog and Four Eyes.
Thor Giant-Sized finale: Bittersweet. / Blackest Night: Ivan Reis. / Green Lantern: Geoffy!! / Superman Secret Origin: Brilliant. / New Avengers: Immonen draws so pretty.

I probably won’t be about to make it to the shop this week. This is the first thanksgiving that I will be spendng away from my family, thats ok, I have made several friends up here in NYC that I will be spending it with.
Holy shit I have a lot of comics this week!!! My comics this week are: Detective Comics, Green Lantern, Fantastic Four, JLA, Blackest Night, JL:Cry For Justice, Powers(Its only been like fifty years!!!), Criminal, Muppet Peter Pan, The Tick New Series(if my shop has it), Usagi Yojimbo, Superman, JSA(probably my last issue), Superman: Secret Origin, Gotham City Sirens, World’s Finest(maybe) and I’m probably gonna get the Chew trade and Issue six. I haven’t started X-Mas shopping yet but I’m buying at least 18 comics this week!!!
BQ: I’m spending thanksgiving with my girlfriend’s family and its gonna be awesome! My girlfriend’s mom is the most amazing cook ever! Can’t wait for the Dressing, Broccoli Casserole, Corn Souffle and lots and lots of Mushed Potatoes with gravy!!!

BQ: Both my wife and I will be working, were both on graveyard. So we’ll travel during the day about 20 miles to my parents house for dinner. We just moved recently so we might be able to have some stuff at our place too.
OH MY F"N GOD — this is a huge week. Just HUGE!!! Well, what is there – the Blackest Night books (I think this week’s will probably the the strongest so far), Chew, NEW POWERS, IMAGE UNITED, Die Hard, The Last Resort, Ultimate Avengers, GI Joe Origins, Goon silent issue, Creepy, Thor finale – this is just a monster week. Ron’s got a mighty job ahead of him.
BQ: Usual Thanksgiviing – heading to my folks Wednesday, come home Friday, hitting a few stores along the way, heading out to a local comic shop’s biggest sale of the year (50% off trades!!! $1 back issues!!!), then taking a week off work for my b-day. This is the second year for this plan and it’s becoming a tradition that I can certainly get behind.

BQ: Dinner’s at my house, so I’ll be drinking away everthing & everyone.
If I was a betting man (maybe I would be if I wasn’t spending so much on comics every week), I’d wager a hefty sum that Ron’s pick will either be Image United or Guardians of the Galaxy with Last Resort as a distant dark horse.
I get to leave work at noon on Wednesday, so it will be a delight to grab my comics and read them in the afternoon.
BQ: My wife and I will head up the highway 5 minutes to my parents house. I am very excited about this drive, since this distance in the middle of Austin typically takes 20 minutes, but with no traffic on Thanksgiving day I can probably hit 90 MPH. In any case, I am also borrowing a Playstation 3 and Beatles Rock Band to have my parents play. It will be a great time, especially since my mom has never even thought about playing a video game.

Damn! Nearly all the best books are out this week! Most excited for Iron Man, New Avengers, and Uncanny X-Men, of course, but I also can’t wait to read Secret Warriors and Detective Comics.

Come Thanksgiving break (mine doesn’t actually start ’till Wednesday afternoon) I’m gonna first of all hang out with my best friend Willis whom I haven’t seen in like over a year and then it’ll be time to hit the books hard for at least three hours or so before crashing with my pull list, spending a ton of awesome good times with the family, and finally getting a big of much-craved (and probably needed) rest from what has been a semester (thankfully) jam-packed with work! 😀
And brosephs you can bet that, especially with such a big pull list, Thanksgiving is sure to present more than one lucky and probably unsuspecting member of the Moras/Roldan household with his or her fair share of opportunities to pick up what will perhaps be his or her very first comic!!! 😀

I am so sorry that you have pick this week I read only 4 books and they all really were solid. I would also like to take this oppertunity to say the ring promotion worked, I never read JLA before and now I am sorry to say I am hooked. Blackest Night had the biggest WTF moment of the week easily! FF continues to amaze and Image United was a ton o’ fun. In an added bonus Chew TPB, nothing like a food book before Thanksgiving!
