Comments

  1. The Muppets, and it was fucking rad.

  2. The comics page isn’t working
    ๐Ÿ™

  3. NEW DAREDEVIL = EARLY CHRISTMAS.

  4. wicked light week for me. only 3 pulls.

    • Same but then I’m a student with no money and try to limit myself to no more than three books a week.
I’m not really into straight up super hero stuff either.
Going for ‘Daredevil’ (the exception to the rule) ‘Near Death’ and ‘Angel and Faith’ (I’ll buy any book with Whedon’s name on but the fact it’s really good doesn’t hurt).

  5. Daredevil and Star Trek….and thats about it. I echo the sentiment of Wicked Light week….

but this is good…i have a bunch of stuff to catch up on.

  6. Light week, only FF and Uncanny X-Men.

BQ: I saw A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas, which was good, and The Muppets, which was amazing!!

  7. It’s a rare, all Marvel week for me!

Daredevil, FF, and Thunderbolts. (Good stuff for a change)

BQ: The Muppets on Thanksgiving! Definitely one of the best movies of the year. Funny, very respectful to the source material, and just a hell of a lot of fun. I could go for hours on the best jokes and songs which are too many to count. (The Song: ‘Muppet or a Man’ is one of the gems)

  8. I saw THE DESCENDANTS and it made me hate every movie I have seen this year because they weren’t this movie. Seriously, if only everyone could write with this quality of character and reservation and respect to the viewer we would all be better people.

OH, and on the other end of the spectrum I saw the new CONAN. It was great too, but for entirely different reasons and it made me hate critics for their not being able to enjoy bloodletting and beheadings and whatnot.

  9. So DC doesn’t publish anything on week 5’s anymore?

    • I know, THUNDER Agents is my only book this week…sad face…

    • The new 52 books are on a rather strict schedule, thus a fifth week gets books like the new Thunder Agents mini, Batman Odyssey, LoSH: Secret Origin. & a couple of notable Vertigo books. so try new things! i’m looking at thunderbolts & skullkickers.

  10. Victor Von Doom #1… oh wait…

  11. Daredevil for sure, maybe TMNT as well. Does anyone know if the new BPRD trade “Being Human” is uncollected stuff or is it from previous BPRD and Hellboy collections?

Bonus Question: Watched “Super 8” on VOD this weekend. It was enjoyable, definitely captured that Spielberg 80’s movie feel. But damn, what was with those lense flares? Once in a while is okay and kind of cool, but there were flares on-screen sometimes when there was absolutely no light source on screen!

    • Yeah Super 8 was like Star Trek, except instead of futurism it was chock full of nostalgia. Still in my top movies of the year. Top 3 of the summer

    • About BPRD “being human” trade…I think its previously uncollected stuff. They came out earlier this year in single issue format. There is a story from a few years back in it too i guess.

  12. Only getting Spaceman #2, but won’t make a trip to my LCS just for that book, even though it’s one of my favorites. Will pick it up next week.

BQ: Saw 50/50 which was truly amazing. Very emotional and very humorous as well! The acting was very believable by all actors, but Joseph Gordon Levitt was fantastic. Can’t recommend to go and see this when you have a chance!!

  13. Damn, no DC New 52’s.

Good thing I have a new found love for Marvel.

  14. New 52 skip week! As part of DC’s push to keep all their books coming out on time, DC is making time last longer. Like how Justice League is a monthly, where a month = 6 weeks.

  15. This week only just has enough comics to get me to the store, but I have high hopes for the x-books.

I took my kid out of school to see The Muppets on Wednesday. (She’s 4. She’s learning to fingerpaint.) I want to see it again, although it didn’t change my life like it did for other people. Kermit is suffering from clinical depression, while Piggy has somehow become mature and together all of a sudden.

  16. 1 book two weeks in a row. Scalped last week and spaceman this week.

BQ: Martha Marcy May Marlene. …not a holiday movie

  17. Like last week since its a 5 week month for comics this is the smallest pull list ive had in forever with only two books.
Daredevil and Wolverine which im both looking forward to.

BQ: it isnt a new movie but i seen Lincoln Lawyer for the first time on tv over the weekend and i really enjoyed it and wasnt expecting to

  18. Wow, really slow week, and yet I feel there is loads of stuff that is late to be released. Still, there’s always Daredevil, new Thunder Agents, Wolverine, Uncanny and FF to keep me warm. And a new Rasl trade.

BQ: No, unfortunately not…and I still can’t believe we have to wait for the Muppets til February here in the UK. At least a Christmas release would have made a degree of sense…grrr…

  19. I’m going to go through DC Withdrawal this week. >.<

  20. Weird, not a single book this week. I will use this time to play Skyrim, so I am happy.

  21. Looks like a catch-up week for me! I hope there are some good digital sales. Ultimate Spiderman $0.99ea is not a bad start to the week on Comixology.

  22. Wow. One book, the Legion. This is the smallest week i’ve had in years.

The Muppets was amazing, pure joy from start to finish.

  23. I find it hard to believe that none of you “light-week New 52” fans are curious/brave enough to jump into the crazy waters of Archie #627: Archie Meets KISS with me! Come on! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. Light Week!

I saw the Muppets and I loved it. Big Muppet fan and I prayed all during the previews that it wouldn’t be another Treasure Island experience.

  25. What the!? Only TWO comics on my pull list this week? I’ll go into withdrawal!

On the plus side, one of them is THUNDER Agents. The balance is thus restored.

  26. Just one book for me, T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents is back!
BQ: Encore had a Lord of the Rings marathon on this past weekend. I wouldn’t have watched it but they the extended versions. 12 hours well spent!

  27. I’ve got as light a week as everyone else, nothing on my pull list so i’ll try Thunder Agents, Skullkickers & perhaps Thunderbolts as well. after last week’s Fan Four #600 i’m going to be adding FF & Fantastic Four to my list.

  28. I watched Limitless, which was kind of like a movie about someone with the powers of The Midnighter from StormWatch

  29. Now, everyone go over to the comics section and pull Green Wake from Image!

  30. This is the lightest week for me in recent memory. My only pick-up will be Daredevil.

I saw The Muppets on Friday and loved it!

  31. DAREDEVIL #6
    FF #12
    NEAR DEATH #3
    RED SKULL #5 (OF 5)
    SPACEMAN #2 (OF 9)
    T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENTS, VOL. 2 #1 (OF 6)
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES ONGOING #4
    THUNDERBOLTS #166

No movies this past weekend, but the woman and I are going to go see Muppets tonight!

  32. Super easy week on my wallet with the new 52 taking a week off. Hurray.

  33. Daredevil and FF for me. None of the “main” DC books coming out because of the 5th week threw me off. But at least I’m really looking forward to the two books I’m getting!

BQ: I watched Return of the Jedi. I didn’t think it was as good as Star Wars or Empire Strikes Back.

  34. I have no comics this week, this is frightening.

  35. Light week here as well because of the 5th week. Daredevil and Spaceman are on my list and kick ass from last week. I expect Daredevil to continue with it’s awsomeness, spacman to look very good and kick ass to suck. that last issue was really bad, and i even consider to kick the series before it normal end.

  36. BQ: i saw the muppets and it was awesome

  37. Saw 50/50 which was really good, having a sister in law go through a very tough couple of years of breast cancer treatment it was pretty authentic.

Then of course me and the wife hand a long talk about death and what I’d do when she died (we’ve previously established that I’m immortal).

  38. Ok, NOW I’ve seen The Muppets. Only cried three times!? Bunch of stoic coldhearted bastards! You guys going to do a special edition podcast on it?

  39. Spaceman #2 is what I am looking fowrd to the most.

bq; just watched Capt. America, not bad, can see why some did not like it though I did.

  40. I had to look over my pull list , just to make sure I was right. 3 books!!!! WTF . Did DC forget about this week. This is the best week to buy some trades, that I have been looking into it.

  41. Only Wolverine #19, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4, Uncharted #1, and a book I’ll buy in trade because of the super light week. What’s a good book to pick up in a trade?

    • If you aren’t reading Fables, it’s great. As is Sweet Tooth. And, of course, that little known comic The Walking Dead. All are great reads in trade.

But if you’re looking for something older that has a definitive ending point, I’d suggest 100 Bullets, Ex Machina and Y:The Last Man.

  42. Wolverine, Uncanny X-Men, Daredevil and Angel & Faith. Did you see that Steve Morris cover on Angel & Faith? Amazing! Christos Gage is killing it on this book- if you have even a flicker of interest in the Buffyverse, I highly recommend it!

  43. And the Muppets was great, BTW.

  44. I got nothin’.

  45. Seems like a light week for everybody. I was only supposed to get 2 books (Haunt #19 and Uncanny #2) but the store had some back issues i’ve been waiting on too ( X-force #12, #15 and Schism #4) so it turned out not being so light. And the week of X mas is gonna kill everybody’s pull-list.
