Comments

  1. Good Week needed my Saga fix!!

  2. More Saga please!

  3. Looks like a big week for indie books for me: Fatale, Revival, Saga, & The Victories. And that’s not counting a few big two titles I’ll get.

BQ: No, but I might dip my toe just to see if the water’s fine.

  4. Big week for me:

Saga, Daredevil, AvX10, Uncanny x-f, Before Watchman:R, Amazing Spidey, Walking Dead, Avengers, Nightwing, Captain Marvel, Deadpool, Deadpool Kills, and Sensational Spidey.

Thankfully I filled up my punch card at local CBstore 🙂

  5. I’m so conflicted on Amazing Spider-Man… I own every issue since January of 1993, but I can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel with Slott still on the book. I think I’m gonna drop it after 19 years of reading a book, it’s time to say…..good bye Spidey…..

    • You trudged through years of Howard Mackie, but THIS is what makes you drop the book?

    • @bigben2012: I’m all in favor of dropping books you don’t like the instant you realize you don’t like it anymore, but…

Marvel IS relaunching almost ALL of their books with new #1s and re-engineered creative teams over the next 6 months…

and nothing has been announced about Spider-man yet…

so that light might be closer than you think. (I’m guessing we’ll see an Amazing 700, but not 701)

    • so weird, you’ve been reading for twenty years and now want to stop because of Dan Slott? Is this really the WORST Spidey arc in twenty years? I find that hard to believe. Slott’s work has been so much fun, I hope he stays on the book.

    • Well, since the BND team of ASM took spidey to another level, and made me remember why I loved Spider-Man. Slott did some great work under that team, but on his own has felt lackluster to just plain terrible at points.

    • While I haven’tbeen reading The Amazing Spider-Man for 20 years,I have been a huge fan of Slott’s run. To me he’s letting Peter Parker evolve not as a hero but as person himself. I for one hope Slott stays on with Spider-man. Plus who doesn’t love all the Lady Gaga refrences.

  6. Is this the last of Saga?

  7. SAGA #6
    THE WALKING DEAD #101
    BEFORE WATCHMEN: RORSCHACH #1
    GREEN LANTERN #12
    WONDER WOMAN #12

  8. REVIVAL #2!!!

  9. Better late then never. Getting:

    Batwoman, Wonder Woman

    Fatale, Saga

    Daredevil (for allred & stilt-man), Uncanny X-Force.

BQ: have i? No. Would i? No, probably not.

    • I wish JHWilliams3 would back away from the water ghosts and werewolf-people and just put Batwoman back in a more realistic crime world. I’m sick of seeing her go up against silliness.

It’s a heavy buying week for me… I guess I’m most excited about WALKING DEAD #101. (And purely on a soap opera level, at that.) Then we’ve got the ramping up THE SHADE and our first BEFORE WATCHMEN: RORSCHACH. Great week, man.

BQ: Yes, the summer pool party circuit here in L.A.

    • [Sorry, I did not intend for that post to be in the REPLY section of adrianrigter’s]

    • Since her inception Batwoman has faced supernatural threats. There’s no realistic crime world for her to go ‘back’ to…

    • What Markish said.

    • There were were-people present in Batwoman’s first arc, but her first villain was psycho Alice – a good old fashioned painted up nutcase human being (a la the Joker) who was tied to Kate’s own tragic past. I was much more into that than I was the protracted “ghost” of Hydrology, or yet more were-people.

    • Fair enough, but even Alice was a ‘High Priestess’ of the Religion of Crime who had previously prophesied Kate’s death.

I think it’s an interesting choice to have a Bat-related character – especially a rationally thinking one who used to be a soldier – plunged into the supernatural side of the DCU. Obviously your milage may vary, and that’s totally fine. I do like JHW3 drawing big crazy monsters and ghosts, though.

  10. CATWOMAN #12
    GREEN LANTERN CORPS #12
    THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #691
    DAREDEVIL #17
    GREEN LANTERN #12
    X-FACTOR #242
    AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #10

BQ: No, I enjoy all of my limbs.

  11. DC (that I really want):

    Green Lantern 12
    Wonder Woman 12
    Blue Beetle 12

DC (that I’m getting but I’m not too crazy about):

Birds of Prey 12 (Rotworld related)
DC Universe Presents 12 (possibly fun one and done)

    Vertigo:

    Hellblazer 294
    Saucer Country 6

    Marvel:

    Avengers Vs. X-Men 10
    Uncanny X-Force 29
    New Mutants 47

    Image:

    Saga 6
    Supreme 66

  12. IMAGE:
    Fatale #7
    ’68 Scars #2
    Revival #2
    Saga #6
    The Walking Dead #101

    DC:
    Rohrschach #1

    BQ: No, thanks.

  13. Hulk: Season One (HC)

BQ: I’ve eaten shark. Figured I should eat one before it eats me. Tasted good.

  14. BQ: never have, probably wouldn’t since they frakkin eat things that are in the water. And so far, enough shark week already…I get it…they are huge, have teeth and eat everything. I’d rather watch Jaws again.

Saga, some Green Lantern, AvX, Daredevil, WW, and a bunch of others. I tried Fatale and
Saucer Country but jut couldn’t get into them.

  15. Saga #1
    Daredevil #17
    Rorscach #1
    Revival #2

    maybe Hellblazer #294

BQ: Do nurse sharks count? They are pretty docile.

  16. Wrkngclasshero (@joinedtofollow) says:

    Super light week for me:

    Green Lantern #12
    Saga #6
    Walking Dead #101

I may pick up Rorschach if reviews are good however, I have dropped the rest of BW and have decided to wait for the Omnibus that will surely follow (eventually).

  17. Daredevil
    Amazing Spider Man
    Catwoman
    Nightwing

    BQ: No and No!!

  18. Amazing Spider-Man #691
    Avengers vs X-Men #10
    Captain Marvel #2
    Batwoman #12
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe #3
    Wonder Woman #12
    Sensational Spider-Man #33.2

    BQ: No and NEVER

  19. My highlight of this week is The Shade #11 – it’s been a fantastic run!
    Also picking up :-

    Birds of Prey #12
    Green Lantern #12
    Wonder Woman #12

    Fatale #7
    Pigs #8
    Saga #6

BQ : No. Swimming with dolphins is my preference.

  20. Huge pull list this week, most looking forward to Saga, Saucer Country and The Shade.

BQ: Are we talking literally, figuratively or are we talking about the failed 1994 Kevin Spacey movie?

  21. Only four books this week but iris four books that I really love: Saga, Daredevil, X-Factor and Amazing Spider-Man

    BQ: no and no!

  22. Small old week for moi, just got Green Lantern, Shade & Dark Avengers!

    BQ- No can swim!

  23. My pull list this week
    Supergirl
    Wonder Woman
    Catwoman
    Saga
    Captain Marvel

BQ: Yes I have actually. When I was a kid on a trip to mexico I saw in open waters with a nurse shark. One of the coolest memories of my life.

  24. Another $40 plus week for me…my wallet hurts!
    Before Watchmen: Rorcach #1
Red Hood and The Outlaws #12
    Wonder Woman #12
    Revival #2
    Saga #6 (YES!)
    Walking Dead #101
    Spider-Man #691
Avengers Vs. X-Men #10 ( I feel “dumb” for liking this book because EVERYBODY hated on it all day….oh well)
    Daredevil #17
    Harbinger #3
BQ: Once you enter the ocean you are no longer on top of the food chain!

  25. Daredevil – Waid is amazing.
Nightwing – probably for the last time
Blue Freakin’ Beetle — what a fun read.

  26. Saga, Daredevil, and UXF = Sweet Week.

    BQ: Fuck no.

  27. Really pumped about Saga, Uncanny X-Force, and especially seeing Allred on Daredevil. Looks like a pretty good week this week.

    BQ: I haven’t but I definitely would.

  28. Saga, Red Hood and Cat Woman. Look’s like I won’t be reading by books on the bus this week.

BQ: Does swimming with a bunch of small children while they take turns pretending to be “Jaws” count?

  29. Any week with Saga and Fatale is a good week, add in Daredevil by Allred, and Wednesday couldn’t get here soon enough.

Batwoman- Yay! JH art is back!, and hopefully a more linear plot.
    Daredevil- ALLRED!!
Fatale- It’s been a wait, but this book is always worth it.
Nightwing- Last issue was just OK, hoping things pickup, because I want to follow the Gray Son’s adventures.
Saga- Not much to say except, I love this book. I think I might read the whole arc this week to really soak up all the awesome.
Saucer Country- No Ryan Kelly makes me sad, but the secret history of UFO’s makes me smile.
The Shade- This issue is Irving’s last, I wish he was on a regular monthly book. I don’t want this series to end, but I guess thats a good thing.
Wonder Woman- It’s been a year now, and I still can’t believe I’m pulling a WW book, but it has been wonderful (haha, wink).

BQ: Not knowingly, but I have surfed in Central/Northern CA, so it’s possible. If I was rich, I’d be stoked to sit in one of those cages.

  30. Big huge week for me and I still need to buy last weeks books since I wasn’t home last week.

BQ: No I would not want to.

  31. Avengers Vs. X-Men #10, Captain Marvel #2, Catwoman #12, DC Universe Presents #12, Deadpool #59, Green Lantern #12, Nightwing #12, Red Hood and the Outlaws #12, Saga #6, The Amazing Spider-Man #691, The Avengers #29, The Walking Dead #101 & Uncanny X-Force #29.
Picking up DC Universe Presents for the first time because of the sorta Teen Titans tie in.

BQ: I’d swim with sharks after 2 people have been eaten becuase an average of 2 people a year die from shark attacks. After those 2 are dead you’ve got a better chance of being crushed by a vending machine.

  32. I have swam with sharks a few times, well I sawm in the ocean a few times and I did not see any sharks but I know they were there somewhere.
