Bonus Question: What was the most fun video game system you ever owned? What was your favorite game ever?

Comments

  1.  Yes! Seige stuff and Blackest Night stuff

BQ: The Nintendo 64 three way tie on that system between Goldeneye, Turok 2, and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

  2. BQ anything i could play a monkey island game on

  3. Green Lantern Corps, Siege, Hercules and Moon Knight. It’s going to be a good week!

My Sega Master System, seriously. Favorite game, possibly Super Mario Galaxy.

  4. Avatar photo Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

BQ: Love my PS3, but I probably got the most mileage out of my PS1 and Sega Genesis. Most fun with a game? Streets of Rage II on the Genesis or, honest to god, Podracer for the PC.

  5. I’ve probably gotten the most use out of my xbox 360, for all its multimedia capabilities, but gamewise? Teamwise, we’re talking Goldeneye for N64. By myself?  GTA VC.

  6. Any time it’s an Irredemable week, that’s usually my most-anticipated one of the week. But this week, with Choker #2, it’s neck-n-neck between those two.

Also, pleasantly surprised by this Supes 80pg giant; no idea what that is, wasn’t expecting it. Will try it out.

  7. CHECK OUT AMERICAN VAMPIRE #1 THIS WEEK!!!!!!

Excited for that and X-FACTOR FOREVER #1. YEA RON WE BOUT TO THROW DOWN 80’S STYLE UP IN THIS BITCH!

    BQ: N64. OoT.

  8. Just a Batman: International trade for me this week, thanks. Although I might pick up a few old trades to get me through my prelims.

BQ: You cannae beat the N64. As for games, the tempting answer is GoldenEye, but I’m more of a Perfect Dark man. There’s also Super Mario 64 and of course Mario Kart…

  9. ASM, GLC, Siege, Neverland (which is incredible), and Joe the Barbarian

BQ – I went through 2 Gamecubes in college mostly playing Madden and MarioKart: Double Dash.  Later on it was all about Resident Evil 4, my favrotie game ever!  On the N64 is was all about GoldenEye, man I loved that game.

  10. I am stupid excited for X-Factor Forever.  Don’t judge me.

BQ: I had an Atari.  We used to play Combat.

  11. I’m really excited about Siege #3 and Green Lantern Corps #46 this week(also going to pick up Ultimate Spidey which i couldn’t get last week).

BQ: PS2 was the most fun system I owned without questions. Gamewise I would say Gears 1 & 2.

  12. Nice stuff this week – a Blackest Night book, Siege, Choker, Battlefields, Hulk books, American Vampire, Wagner writing Green Hornet (hopefully better than Kevin Smith’s book), Irredeemable, Echo, the last issue (apparently) of Spider-Woman (which I’ve enjoyed). I’ll also give the Superman 80-page-er a look.

BQ: I’ve got to say, thinking about it, I’ll go old school with the original Nintendo. Maybe because it was during my formative years and spent days with friends bonding over trying to get through games. Plus, there was some amazing games – Super Mario 1 and 2, the original Tyson Punch-Out, Ghost and Goblins, Zelda 1 – some really great games.

  13. Only two books for me this week: Amazing Spider-man and Guardians of the Galaxy. But I’m also gonna pick up the last issue of Wolverine Weapon X and that special Moon Knight 1-3 that came out last week, I’ve heard good things.

BQ: I own a wii but I use my roommates x – box 360 more than I use that. But wedsday nights are mario cart nights and friday nights are guitar hero rock out nights so I guess I have the most fun with freinds on my wii

  14. Most looking forward to Siege and Amazing Spider Man. That last Rhino story was GREAT.

BQ: I’m with Alexferrer. Sega Master System was tits. It came with these heavy 3D glass and gun and some AWESOME games. Favorite video game is tied between Shinobi 3 and NBA Jam, both or the Sega Genesis.

  15. GLC, Green Arrow, Siege, X-Men Legacy, Nation X, Batman, and I think I preordered Titans and X-23.  Probably won’t get them if I didn’t

And for anyone keeping count, the Cloak and Dagger and X-Men Origins: Nightcrawler One Shots are now three weeks late.

BQ: That’s a toughie, but I’d say the game I’ve gotten the most use out of (not necessarily most game time, since I was really into Final Fantasy games for years) would be Perfect Dark for N64.  Almost 10 years later, there still has yet to be a better FPS in my opinion, except maybe the Time Splitters games, since they’re the successor.

  16. BQ:  I loved my sega genesis.  I had the most fun with NHL 96 and NBA Jam

  17. Seige
    Blackest Night
    Nova
    X-Men Legacy
    Vegeance of Moon Knight
    Doom War
    X-23 #1

I’m pumped!!! Exhausted but Pumped as shit!~!

BQ: Like SlockHart said, it’s pretty tough. I have definetly been in the rut of video games in my years before comics even though I don’t play so much anymore, but the most fun I have ever had playing a game has got to be the following: Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda: OoT & Majora’s Mask, Final Fantasy VII, The Legend of Dragoon, Shinobi PS2, Capcom Fighting games like X-men vs. Streetfighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, and definetly my beat em up collections including Streets of Rage 1,2,3 and Final Fight.

Recently: Super Mario 64, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, X-men Legends I & II
Most of those has been early Playstation games, Capcom adaptations to licensed properties and Nintendo. As of lately video games just haven’t recaptured the magic that they used to. But perhaps that has to do with the advent of the internet and company focus on technological advances in gaming experiences and less about the actual experience of playing.

  18. Another slow week for me. Which typically means next week I’ll be drowning in comics. I can think of worse ways to go.

Just GL Corps, Batman, and Green Arrow (despite my better judgement) for me this week.

BQ – I probably got the most mileage out of my PS2. It’s kinda obscure, but I think Soul Reaver gets the gold for my fondest gaming experience. However I did play the shit out of GoldenEye, Kart, Soul Calibur, and Halo.

  19. Huh, looks like a middle sized week! GL Corps, Siege, Irredeemable, Battlefields and Fables. But can’t wait for American Vampire! Nothing like a new indie book. And I can finally get in on the Fowler love and read Mysterius.

BQ: I’ve always been a PC gamer and I have to say, my two favorite games are Mass Effect 2 and Empire Total War (RPB and grand strategy, respectively). I recently got a PS3 though and I’ve been obsessed with getting levels in MW2 multiplayer and finding out who the Origami Killer is from Heavy Rain. This is in addition to Uncharted 2 and Assassins Creed 2. Wow, that’s a big tangent.

  20. Light week!

  21. BQ: PS2. Dark Cloud 2.

  22. Good-sized list for me this week.

Batman (my last issue; just getting it to fill out Daniel’s story–which was "okay" by me–then dropping the title till at least #700).

Joe the Barbarian (last issue of this for me too, unless the story impresses me a lot more–otherwise, will wait for trade, maybe).

X-Men: Legacy (coming back to this title, giving it another shot, because I like Mike Carey’s Rogue).

X-Factor Forever (wasn’t going to get this, but the Uncanny X-Cast did an interview with Louise Simonson last week, and she won me over for at least the first issue.)

BQs: Favorite system: NES, hands down. A million awesome games that were so much fun, back when every household seemed to have this system and trade games for it. Favorite game: Final Fantasy II for the SNES. Might not be technically as impressive or deep as later FFs, but this was the one that really won me over for the RPG genre, and historically speaking it is the first RPG that had THIS expansive of a world and a storyline.

  23. Opps ..

    BQ: Doom, MLB 2010

  24. Light week: siege 3 and Joe 3

BQ: superness, rock n roll racing.

  25. Seige

    Green Lantern Corps

    Amazing Spiderman

    Supergirl

    Echo

    BQ: NES.

  26. Unknown Soldier Trade and that is really it for me this week

NES/SNES and old school DOS games…  thank goodness for GOG.com (good old games – place where you can buy the old DOS games modified to run on modern day systems!)

  27. Thought it was a second quiet week this week, but then saw the Siege goodness, Joe The Barbarian, that great ASM cover, the Killer HC and a few other nice looking things.  Also ordered Mysterius with my freebie Amazon.com $25 voucher.  Cool beans.

BQ:  Man I am so the wrong person to try and answer that question…

  28. 5 this week…Fables, Joe the Barbarian, ROK Imperial Guard, Brave and the Bold and I will give American Vampire a try.

BQ: N64 – I am not good at video games but I absolutely owned Super Smash Brothers 64 and MarioKart 64.  Damn I miss those games.

  29. BQ: Anything worth playing can be played on the SNES.

Not really, but geez, what a great system.

  30. Siege, Joe, Locke and Key, ASM, Echo, and maybe American Vampire.

BQ: Genesis: Streets of Rage 2. Close second: Playstation with Resident Evil 2… and Crash 2.

  31. Crap, I was hoping GI Joe was coming out this week.

As for BQ, I’d probably say Wii since I can play old NES and SNES games. But Street Fighter II is like the greatest game EVER! Come on, everyone here knows they spent more hours they could count trying to hadoken they their friends

  32. Average size week, probably most intrigued by American Vampire…potential to go either way, but I’m almost always game for a new horror book…

BQ: Nintendo – RBI Baseball. Somewhere on the web, there’s a video using RBI that simulated the end of the Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, using the real announcing from the broadcast. It is glorious.

  33. BQ- Super Nintendo: F-Zero & Super Mario World

  34. Super Nintendo – some of the best games ever.(Link to the Past, Super Metriod, Super Castlevania IV, Super Mario RPG thats just to name a few.

  35. Very solid week for me.

    Azrael #6

    Brave and the Bold #32

    Green Lantern Corps #46

    Joe the Barbarian #3

    Guest includes Punisher Noir HC.

BQ: Oh this is a hard one…..I think I will always have my heart set on the NES. I’ve played Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt so many times when I was from age 4-8 I can’t think of any other games I have loved more and a system as well.

  36. CANT WAIT FOR SEIGE #3. DEFINITLY SNES AND SUPER MARIO WORLD. HOLLA

  37. Amazing Spider-Man #625

    American Vampire #1

    Doctor Who #9

    Green Arrow #31

    Green Lantern Corps #46

    Seige #3

BQ. N64 definitely got the most mileage from me. Between Goldeneye, Star Fox 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, and Zelda:OoT; I killed a lot of free time with that system.

But favorite game ever? Gotta give it to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the Xbox. I’ve played it at least 4 times all the way through (male, good and bad; female, good and bad) and love it every single time. Awesome game.

  38. BQ: Super NES or PS2. Game wise I’d Zelda/Mario(SNES) and Shadow of the Colossus/Metal Gear(PS2) That being said this will probably change once i stop being so chintzy and buy a DSI.

  39. Siege 3

    Batman 697

    Supergirl

    Green Arrow

    Brave and the Bold

    and Titans 23

BQ: I think I have to give it up for the N64, so many fond memories of Mario Kart battles in college.  Game would have to be Resident Evil 4

  40. Ooh, another slim week with just GLCorps, Amazing Spidey & Spider-Woman.

BQ:  Dreamcast, fave game was Skies of Arcadia. Spent bloody hours on that.

  41. American Vampire, Batman, Fables, Green Arrow, Green Lantern Corps, Joe The Barbarian, Choker, Amazing Spider Man, Irredeemable, Battlefields

BQ: I’m really liking the Wii. I can play those old NES games on it from the WiiWare store on a NES style controller without having to worry about it breaking, jiggling the cartridge, blowing in the console, etc. It’s really enjoyable. My favourite game of all time would have to be Gunstar Heroes for Genesis.
  42. Fables #93
    Green Lantern Corps #46
Joe The Barbarian #3 (OF 8)

BQ: If PCs count, then my PC and Morrowind.  If not, my Super Nintendo and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (also available on the Wii Virtual Console).
  43. Avatar photo PymSlap (@alaska_nebraska) says:

BQ: My all-time fav game is Quake, and my fav system was the Playstation (with games like FFVII, Tekken 3, MGS, Crash Bandicoot 2, & Resident Evil).

  44. Avatar photo PymSlap (@alaska_nebraska) says:

Very excited this week for X-Factor Forever, ASM, and Siege.

  45. Brave and the Bold & Batman are the only books I gotta have this week.

BQ:UP/UP/DOWN/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT/LEFT/RIGHT/A/B/B/A!  CONTRA baby that game was the stuff.

Tecmo bowl hut hut hut hut hut hut hut hut hut super tecmo bowl.

    Bulls Vs Lakers

    Mario

    sonic

    wcw vs the world

    abe’s world

    wrestlemania 2000

no PAC-MAN on the atari thats my final answer, favorite.

  46. Green Lantern Corps #46 is what I’ll be gripin on, and Miller Lite is what I’ll be sipin on….

BQ: The orginal Ninetendo NES was my favorite system and Tecmo SuperBowl is my most favorite game of all-time! Bo Jackson all day!!!!!!! Yeah, you know what I’m talking about………. Lawerance Taylor of the NYG was bad ass also…. Anyone else agree?

  47. BQ NES Castlevania games

    Matthew

  48. BQ:  Favorite System ever was Game Boy Advance SP.  If you hold it close enough to your face, it feels like a big screen tv, and it folds up into a square.  My favorite game ever was Resident Evil 4 but has been unseated by Uncharted 2.  Favorite old school game was Dr. Mario.  I will school you in that game.

  49. 16 books for me this week…woohoo!

    Most excited for:

1)DoomWar#2 (I wasnt even going to get the first one, but it was awesome!)

2)Guardians of the Galaxy #24 (countdown to thanos!)

    3)Nation X #4 (One word…Doop.)

    4)Siege #3 (cuz its Siege…duh)

5)X-Factor Forever #1(the preview in ALL of my books a few weeks back won me over. The Lesson:advertising works…at least on me)

BQ:My SNES got the most miles for a system, but Final Fantasy VII definetly wins out on playand replay and replay time.

  50. Avatar photo JFernandes (@jdfernandes) says:

28 issues this week.  I quit.

BQ: XBox 360.  Funnest game in a group: Rock Band 2.

  51. Pretty huge week for me…2 major event story books out (Well…Doomwar is more of a sleeper event, and no where as big as Siege), and the continuation of the Hercules/Amadeus Cho story. X-Men Lagacy #234 looks good, as that series and X-Factor have been my favorite X-books on the stands. Amazing Spider-Man #625 is also something that I’m going to be highly looking forward to, as it picks up from Kelly’s incredible Rhino story from a few issues back. Can this issue top it?

BQ: I want to say my Super NES because I’m an old school platform junkie, but I must go with my PS2 since I probably used it the most. The number of times I’ve played Street Fighter Alpha 3 on it is insane.

  52.  Moon Knight, Choker, and Joe the Barbarian.

BQ: Favorite system ever is definitly the PS2. It had classics like Final Fantasy X and XII, as well as some personal favorite of mine, Star Ocean: Till The End of Time and Dragon Quest VIII. Right now, my fav game of all time is probably Dragon Quest VIII, but honestly all the games I listed above could count. (And I’m a CoD fanatic). Final Fantasy XIII is currently contending for the title as best though, I’m loving it right now.

  53. BQ: And forgot about Metal Gear Solid 4, definitly in my fav games ever. Cinematic perfection for a video game. Best storyline in any game ever hands down.

  54. A nice week for me.  Looking forward to Siege, GLC, and ASM most of all.  The Bronx Kill may or may not find it’s way into my stack this week.

BQ: As a hardcore gamer, this is a hard one for me to answer.  My mind is abuzz with all kinds of answers.  The short version: I loved, loved my Dreamcast, played the crap out of my PS1, was a giant PC gamer for about 2 years, but played N64 with my friends the most.  My favorite game of all time: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.  I have and enjoy all the current systems as they each have their own unique abilities from both the software and hardware side.

  55. Irredeemable, Joe, Echo

BQ: SNES – Street Fighter 2

  56. Just Joe the Barbarian and Nation X ( for Milligan & Allred’s DOOP!) this week. Hopefully that means I’ll be able to save a few pennies for WonderCon.

BQ: I don’t know, I don’t really pay attention to the differences between systems. I guess I kind of liked the TurboGrafx-16, but my brother didn’t like it so he had my mother take it back and since she had bought it for him I couldn’t really do anything about it. Favorite game ever? Probably DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball. I ruled at the hopping game!

  57. Siege, GLC, and Joe the Barbarian is all I need to complete my comic book week.

BQ: Good gosh, so many miles logged on my consoles over the last 20 years….I have to give it to the Super NES.  So many classics across so many gaming genres and Final Fantasy II and III is what got me into RPGs.  But I have to give it to Chrono Trigger as my fave – perfect blend of fighting, story, and drama for a RPG.

  58. BQ:  Pong and my favorite game on it was Pong.

  59. I hope the hardcover I Kill Giants is actually coming out this time…

BQ:  Despite the love I have for my NES Contra buddies, Lance and Bill… finishing the Atari 2600’s Raiders Of The Lost Ark cartridge was a high point for me.  (I might love this Modern Warfare 2 thing on my PS3, if I ever get any good at it)

  60. Dark Avengers #15
Fade To Black #1 (OF 5)
    Green Lantern Corps #46
    Guardians Of Galaxy #24
    Nova #35
Realm Of Kings Imperial Guard #5 (OF 5)
    Siege #3 (OF 4)
    Spider-Woman #7

BQ: I;ve never owned one, sob

  61. Amazing Spidey and Irredeemable for me this week.

BQ: I’ve owned almost every video game system from the original Atari up to the PS3. The one I probably played the most games on was the original Playstation. So many great games on that one, but my record has to be  Civilization II. I once played that game for almost 40 hours straight.

  62. BQ: Xbox, Half-life 2

  63. Three way tie between the PS2, N64 and the PC. Another three-way tie between Metal Gear Solid, Spider-Man 2 and GTA: San Andreas.

  64. American Vampire #1
    Batman #697
    Captain America Mgc #1
    Dark Avengers #15
Deadpool Merc With A Mouth #9
    Deathlok #5 (OF 7)
    Green Lantern Corps #46
    Guardians Of Galaxy #24
Locke & Key Crown Of Shadows #4
    Nova #35
Prelude To Deadpool Corps #3 (OF 5)
Realm Of Kings Imperial Guard #5 (OF 5)
    Siege #3 (OF 4)

BQ: That is a hard one. Favorite system would have to be SNES. Great games like Super Metroid, Super Castlevania 4, Super Mario RPG, Starfox, and NBA Live 95 molded my childhood.  However, best game goes to Tecmo Superbowl for the NES. I heard it was coming to XBL as a download and I can’t wait.
