Comments

  1. BQ. New episodes of Californication.

  2. Another solid week for me. A good mix of DC, Marvel, and a Dark Horse book is in there too.

Deadpool and Cable #25, Hellboy: Sleeping and the Dead #2, Superboy #4, Sweet Tooth #18, Ultimate Thor #4

BQ: Detroit 1-8-7. It’s a cop show taking place in Detroit and it was a great mix of great writing and a nice blend of interesting characters. Still think it’s the best new show to come out in a while.

  3. Only six books this week.  I guess It’s trade buying time then.
BQ: 30 rock seems to be in a Renaissance, so that’s my pick!

  4. Short list this week. Looking forward to the start of the point system for marvel. And how long it will last.
BQ. Community and Big Bang Theory. No surprises there.

  5. Batman Beyond #2 (Does anyone know if this is going to be a digital release again? I’d rather have it in that format.)
    Brightest Day #19
    Daytripper Tp
    Gi Joe #26
    Hellboy Sleeping & Dead #2
    Superboy #4
    Sweet Tooth #18
    Time Masters Vanishing Point #6
Witchfinder Lost & Gone Forever #1

BQ: Really old Simpsons reruns and Community.

  6. Damn I forgot about Community!

Okay, so best DRAMA is Detroit 1-8-7, while best COMEDY is Community.

  7. Just Brightest Day & Legion of Superheroes Annual for me this week.

    BQ: RuPaul’s Drag Race.

  8. All I’m getting this week is the Daytripper trade.

BQ: Hard choice, so I’m going to go tops from each category. Comedy is definitely Modern Family, SciFi is Fringe, and of the broad Procedural category it’s gotta be Castle.

  9. BQ: Californication, Modern Family and Community.

Small week for comics for me, though. Not that I mind – I’m looking forward to getting the Daytripper TP.

  10. @stuclach  I believe Batman Beyond is released digitally and in print simultaneously, so yeah, #2 should be ready for download Wednesday morning.

I have a small week, but I’m looking forward to the H2O one-shot from Dynamite, simply because the premise sounds interesting.  I think the format is similar to their recently released one-shot, Untouchable, which was quite good.  I’m hoping for the same with this.

Daomu #1 looks pretty and I’ll be giving that a try, but the Daytripper trade is probably what I’m looking forward to most, after hearing all praise poured upon the title.

  11. @lifesend  Thank you, sir.

  12. Hmmm. Just Brightest Day and Time Masters for me this week. I may not even go to the store.

BQ: All my shows are on hiatus right now, with the lovely exception of Modern Family (which, now that I think of it, may be on mid-season break). But seeing as how I’m watching the DVD’s from start to finish for the third time, my answer is Mad Men. “You’re a whore. You know that?”

  13. I hope people plan on checking out DAOMU #1 from Image. I saw some previews of it @ one of the Image panels @ NYCC, and it looked fantastic. Otherwise, HOUSE OF MYSTERY and INVINCIBLE are on deck.

BQ: 30 Rock, Always Sunny… Been watching Bored to Death on Netflix.

Is @akamu still out there? If so, I know I can’t be the only one who misses your early reviews on Wednesdays. Bring them back!

  14. BQ
    Smallville

    That is it.
    Matthew

  15. BQ: Lights Out.

  16. Top Gear series 16 is my top pick. Honorable mention to: Big Bang Theory and 30 Rock.

Been working my way through Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix.

  17. Nice good stuff this week – Amazing Spider-Man, Nelson drawing Jonah Hex, Invincible, The Stand and Mike Perkins return after a month or two off, Frank Cho drawing New Ultimates, Sweet Tooth, Irredeemable.

BQ: Sooo much TV, but I’ll say Lights Out for drama and The Ricky Gervais Show for comedy.

  18. The complete West Wing DVD collection.  Something that is actually on now… I got nothin.

  19. @vinh  Top Gear 16? Oh, I’ve missed them.

  20. Crazy light week. I had a ton of books last week but besides that, January’s been a really light month. Best show I’m watching right now is Fringe. Anyone that tried Fringe out and dropped off after a few episodes should give it another shot. Its gotten stronger and stronger.

  21. Fringe. Walter Bishop is awesome.

  22. BQ: Castle, Community, 30 Rock.

  23. Really light week for me.  Only Amazing Spider-Man, though I might pick up the Iron Man Point One issue.

BQ:  I quit watching television day and date this year. All my favorite series (Community, Parks and Rec, Big Bang Theory, Fringe, etc) I will wait to watch when the DVDs come out.  At this moment I am catching up on Eureka on Netflix Instant Watch.

  24. There’s some weird scheduling at the moment, with a huge week last week, a small one this week and what looks like another huge one next week.  I am looking forward to Izombie, Hulk and Ultimate Thor though.

BQ:  Tough question, probably either How I Met Your Mother or Misfits.  I did just watch all of a BBC detective series from the New Year period called Zen which was nice.  Oh, and a new channel with primarily HBO material starts here tomorrow…Boardwalk Empire, finally!

  25. BQ: No one is watching Chuck? Come on, Chuck! Also, Fringe and Castle.

  26. @Gilgamesh417  Chuck is awesome but Fringe has moved ahead of it this year.

  27. Brightest Day, Jonah Hex, Amazing Spiderman HC.
BQ: Modern Family, GLEE (FTW!!) and trying to get into the Cape

  28. BQ: Community and Parks and Rec!

  29. Secret Six, Brightest Day, and the Daytripper trade

BQ: Community and Parks and Rec

  30. BQ: Parks and Rec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. It’s going to be kind of a heavy week for me Iam picking up comics I missed on first run like Flash Rebirth issues 2thru6 I already have issue 1 of that mini some Batman Streets Of Gotham issues so I can catch up on The House Of Hush arc and I think Batman Beyond #2. Usually for me it’s Smallville and Iam catching up on The Cape by DVR. Hi iFanboy is The Cape based on a Marvel Comic that has already came out or are they releasing one yet? My Aunt told me it was based on a Marvel Comic and I don’t remember them putting one out called The Cape.

  32. BQ: Fringe

  33. Is looking forward to Brightest Day.

BQ..so many shows. At this moment i’m really into Portlandia, NBC on Thursday Nights and Southland.

  34. Archer is pretty damn awesome.

  35. Secret Six, Time Masters (last issue sadly) and Superboy for me.

BQ: Smallville, Merlin, Little House on the Prairie re-runs.

  36. ASM #653! Light week but that means I can catch up on some back issues.

  37. Good week check out my pull list to see whats cool  lol (but really).

BQ:  Modern Family  is the best show on tv.     I am into FRINGE and Chuck, trying to get into the Cape and the Office & Community are good for a laugh.

Young Justice and the Avengers are great!

the Haney Project, NBA tonight and MMA live are the only sport shows I am watching regularly.

No Ordianary Family, Kitchen Nightmares, Cops, the big bang, Tosh.0  and V are the only other shows I watch now.

Looking foward to Hoarders, it’s always sunny, Smallville, the Walking Dead and Raising Hope to come back.

    (I love my dvr)

  38. …guess it’s just a Lemire week for me, only picking up Superboy and Sweet Tooth in the shop. Going to be getting the first trade of The Sixth Gun and Sean Murphy’s Off Road from amazon too.

BQ: Currently I’m only really watching Lights Out, The Cape, and Young Justice. Lights Out is not especially compelling and The Cape is super cheesy so the best thing currently would be Young Justice. I am finally finishing the last season of The Sopranos on DVD and after they get Tony out of his coma and the hospital (worst part of whole series IMO) it gets much better.

  39. Hmm, light week this week. Just ASM and Sweet tooth. So I’ll Probably wait untill next week to pick up my books.

BQ: A toss up between Community and Parks and Rec.

  40. Superman 80 Page Giant 2011 #1

Witchfinder Lost & Gone Forever #1
Doctor Strange From Marvel Vault #1
    and just maybe
Batman The Return Of Bruce Wayne Deluxe Ed Hc

BQ: Batman the Animated Series via Netflix discs.  Sure it’s not TV anymore, but it’s really the only TV I watch.

  41. BQ: Young Justice.

  42. Batman Beyond #2
    Brightest Day #19
    Izombie #10
    Jonah Hex #64
    Superboy #4

    Thor For Asgard #6

BQ: Airing right now, I like White Collar, V, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

  43. BQ: Lights Out, which has been a pleasant surprise. Next week the answer will probably change to Justified. (I’m not considering re-runs of Larry Sanders and Mr. Show on IFC as eligible answers.)

  44. Wow. First small week for me in a while, but my wallet is thankful after last weeks brutality.

BQ: Community and Archer are by far the funniest things on television right now.

  45. light week, Amazing Spider-man, Hulk & Ultimate Thor.

BQ : Community, Star Wars : the Clone Wars, Avengers : Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Modern Family, Parks & Recreation, Chuck & Fringe.

  46. Superboy #4 is what I’ll be grippn on, and Arrogant Bastard Ale is what I’ll be sippin on!

    BQ: Smallville………….

  47. I thought Haunt and The Magdalena were supposed to come out this week? That’s what I would have looked forward to.

    BQ: Royal Pains

  48. Brightest Day, Hellboy, Time Masters and the hardcover of Search for Bruce Wayne.

BQ: Season 3 of Mad Men via iTunes.

  49. Thinking of getting Captain America: Patriot Trade. Anyone have any opinions (good or bad)?
    BQ: Shameless

  50. Just R.E.B.E.L.S. Vol. 4 for me, although I hope my copy of JLI Vol. 5 is also in this week!

BQ: Community, Modern Family and Fringe I’d say are all top of my list.

  51. Uncle Scrooge.  The Life and Times of Uncle Scrooge was the highlight of my comic book reading childhood.

BQ: Community, Parks and Recreation ( I hope it doesn’t dissapear)
