Marvel release another teaser image promoting MMXI as the Year of the X-Men, this time focusing on Uncanny X-Force. Take a look:
The echoes of the Age of Apocalypse reality continue to seep in with this piece featuring Sabretooth, Wildchild, Sunfire, Gambit, and short hair Jean Grey along with Magneto, Rogue, the Silver Samurai and an unknown woman with claws like Wolverine (Who is she!?!?)
The fan service being paid to X-Men fans is pretty high with these teases, so naturally I'm pulling my hair out wondering what it's going to be.

Hey Ron, anyway you can find out why there’s a teaser out for #11 that’s coming out in June but #9-10 haven’t been solicited up through the May solicits? Are we to expect a dely on the book?

I don’t know who that’s in response to, no one said it was a cover. But Marvel has solicited #11 for June without having solicited #9-10

That’s a big ass sword Samurai has…..also the blade seems to be in the wrong direction.
But really, along with the previous teasers, I don’t see myself caring for this. I’m tired of alternate realities, mutants fighting mutants, and just anything else that’s been rehashed to death lately for X-Men.
Maybe X-Men is finally reaching the point where you just can’t tell any new stories.
In the last Talksplode, Remender said that Uncanny X-Force would be double shipping for some months…..
@skeets Oh, just saw that elsewhere, that explains it. I’m guessing because that’s when this event they’re teasing starts. Remender said solicits for Uncanny X-Force were being kept under wraps for a while, I’m sure they’ll be in the new Previews.
and as far as I remember, the Marvel May solicits didn’t list any of the info for May’s main X books, including UXF. So 9 and 10 must be coming out either both in May, or 9 in May and 10 and 11 in June.
I hoping that maybe that isn’t the AoA Sunfire but the 616 Sunfire. Remember he became one of the 4 horsemen and adopted the look of the AoA Sunfire. I’m hoping that the 616 Sunfire is on X-Force. I’d love an X-Force team made up of former horsemen Wolverine, Archangel, Gambit, and Sunfire.

If I’m not mistaken, the chick with the claws is Kirika, Wolvie’s daughter introduced in the AoA 10th anniversary mini drawn by Chris Bachalo.

Yeah, that girl with the claws is X-23 from the AoA. She had 3 hand claws like Logan instead of 2 in 616.

Ummmm….I guess I’m the only one who remembers. Kitty Pryde in the AOA was trained by Wolverine and had makeshift claws that she fought with in the pages of X-Calibre before the whole team died because Colossus turned out to be a big pussy. I think the claw chick is supposed to be Kitty.
The claws on that woman look natural- the Shadowcat claws were part of a glove that you could clearly see.

@gobo – well May solicits are already out and there’s no X-Force in there. It’s just weird because when they want to keep things under wraps they still solicit the issue but just leave out the cover and description.
For May solicits all of the X-books (except X-Men and X-Factor) were left out, and now Marvel’s showing the solicits for all the missing books this week. Both New Mutants and Legacy teasers were for the next issues out in May, but with X-Force they’re showing the teaser for June.
As of now Marvel’s solicited all the issues of New Mutants every month up through May, all the issues of Legacy up through May, but have only solicited X-Force 6-8 and now 11.
i hope they keep Uncanny accessible as a standalone. Its the first X related book i’ve read since the 90s and I’m really enjoying it….i really have no interest in getting sucked into any sort of Xmen event for so many reasons.

Does this mean we get a Magneto with long flowing hair back? I sure hope so! Really, we just AoA Morph to make a comeback.
I haven’t read X-Force, can someone tell me if there is a specified reason for Wolverine to wear a different costume in X-Force? Just curious.

I’m not opposed to this, but i don’t think it will be changing my pickup list.
Whenever I read AOA, the end always feels bittersweet, because you see the hero Magneto might’ve become when he goes in for the final battle with Apocalypse. For me, that was always the high point of the story.
Is this not tying into the Mike Carey thing? Age of X or whatever it’s called? Cause that’s a likely senario isn’t it? Especially as Silver Samura, Nightcrawler and Jean Grey are all dead..
Also, worth pointing out that Angel/arch-angel is missing from the teaser…
I wish that artist would draw that comic.
