‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Teaser [UPDATE]

Tonight during Once Upon a Time, ABC is going to show the first teaser for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which as far as I ma aware is the only new show for next season they are teasing in such a manner which if true tells you how much they want this show to be a big hit.

But if you can’t wait for tonight Marvel Studios and ABC put together a Vine-length teaser for the teaser!

The more trendy social media media outlets there are, the more you’re going to get this kind of thing. Anywho…

UPDATE! Here’s the full 30 second teaser!

Comments

  1. Mysterious + Sexy x Action + Coulson = Excitement!!!

  2. my mind yelped ‘luke cage’ at that opening shot! but it also, said ‘skeets’ confusingly at that flying robot thing?

  3. Thank God they had enough time for the hashtag.

That could have used some serious trimming. I mean, there’s no time for any dead time if you want to make a cool, exciting trailer.
They could at least have cut that by a couple of second.

  5. I hope they pack this show with characters. would be cool if they did it like a monster of the week show. every episode a new person to hunt down.

  6. I think I saw people.

  7. Looks like fun. Can’t wait to see more trailers and sneak peaks along the way.

I hope we get to see people like Luke Cage, Daredevil (hey could be a good way to tease his movie), and other more grounded characters. But if they do C-D list super villains that would work too. The possibilities with this show are pretty much endless and the only way it can’t work if the writing and acting is shit.

    Nifty. I’m in.

  9. I’m in, looks awesome and “fun”! 😀

  10. SWEET CHRISTMAS! I’m full on nerding out right now. That’s J. August Richards….Gunn from Angel could possible be Luke Cage. If Joss is using him, then that whole stable of actors could be potentially used. LOVE IT!

    • If he makes J. August Richards Luke Cage then I am going to do the happiest of happy dances. Love that guy, love that character.

  11. Just throwing this out there… there are Vampires in the Marvel U… just saying…

  12. How many episodes will this be? Is it the standard network 24 episodes or is it 13 like Hannibal and The Following?

  13. Just what i need, ANOTHER show to watch! Don’t these people know I work seventy hours a week? Damn you, entertainment industry!

  14. This was awesome. Very excited for this series. On the trailer, that moment with the bird icon on the cargo jet was kinda cool…not sure why i liked that so much, but it was a nice design moment. =)

  15. If Richards isn’t Luke Cage, we riot.

  16. Is it just me, or is the comics version of SHIELD look incompitant compared to this? Think about it, in the comics SHIELD has to rely on the Avengers or whoever to solve stuff. This cast is all regular people and they’re supposed to save the world week after week. Oh yea, love the teaser. The budget looks unreal for a tv show. SIX SEASONS AND A MOVIE!!!

    • I kind of think of it like this. SHIELD probably solves a ton of crisises and deals with lots of problems “off screen” in the comics and the only time we as readers really see them is when something gets so bad they have to call in the big guns, aka the Avengers. A real world analogue would be the CIA. They do all kinds of shit without us ever knowing but when things require a more direct approach they call Seal Team 6 and we get Zero Dark Thirty. Just my interpretation.

It would be kind of cool to see a comic equivalent of this series. An agent level SHIELD book. Unpowered agents doing espionage work against the likes of AIM, Hydra, etc. Could be pretty cool.

    • Yeah, I remember a lot more of that back in the 80’s…We got some great characters out of SHIELD agents. Clay Quartermain, Jasper Sitwell, Contessa DeFontaine, Alexander Goodwin Pierce, DumDum, Gabe, Gaffer…They DID a lot more back then. Recently we got Maria Hill and Daisy (and wow do they look similar), but not a lot else.

    • Which is kinda my point, we never see SHIELD deal with any threats on it’s own, all the ass kicking is outsourced to the Avengers or X-Men (tho never the FF?). For all we know, all the agents could be sitting on the Helicarrier playing “Galiga”.

It would be a cool idea (and probably is an upcoming reality) for there to be a SHIELD tie in comic. I think Phil Coulson was already introduced in “Secret Avengers”. I admit, I’d be curious to see how that would turn out, who write/draw it, and if it would bring in any new comic fans.

    • I just read Mind Mgmt (and flipped for it), but I think Matt Kindt could probably write a cool Agents of SHIELD book. However, Ed Brubaker would naturally have right of first refusal. Or (not that he doesn’t have enough other projects happening) maybe Greg Rucka could make a return to Marvel comics with something like this?

On the art side, I really enjoyed Michael Walsh’s work on Comeback recently. He’s got a down-to-earth and gritty look to his art that would be great for an espionage book.

    • @ithosapien & bub64882: Yeah I would love an agent level book. Secret Warriors was kind of that but all the characters except for Fury had powers so not really. But a book like that about unpowered agents would be awesome.

    • @KenOchalek, I haven’t read anything by Matt Kindt (tho his series sounds intycing) but my first instinct is to go with Brubaker. This is off topic, but do the Big 2 just hate Rucka or something? It seems like he moves from one to the other to back again until something happens to piss him off (last I heard was about his Punisher series being cut short or something for a new one or an event).

I only read the first issue of “Comeback” and didn’t care for it too much but I must admit I like the idea of Walsh’s art for a SHIELD book.

    • @ithoSapien:

I like your idea of a tie-in book. Something that touched on what happened BEFORE they outsourced it to the Avengers or X-Men…It would actually be great to see all the machinations of Hydra that lead up the Avengers just showing up and killing all the robots/ninjas/beekeepers. And how effective SHIELD can be up to the point that they have to text a god of thunder for help.

      I endorse your idea, sir.

    • @Bub64882, I accept your endorsement good sir with thanks. I’m off to go make it a reality.

  17. I like the sort of Torchwood/X-Files in the Marvel Universe potential this series has. Can’t wait to see Coulson in action again! Looking forward to this
