BOOM! Behind the Scenes: EXTERMINATION #3 Process Pages

Dog and cats, living together! Mass hysteria!

Well, it’s not exactly that, but in Extermination, written by Si Spurrier and drawn by Jeffrey Edwards, the aliens have invaded and the supers, both hero and villain have teamed up. The story continues later this month, but before that, we’ve got some process pages here for you, in various stages of doneness.

What’s really interesting here is that some of the pages go from tight pencils to colors, and the last two go from looser pencils to inks to colors. Look at the difference between the loose pencils and the inks, and you’ll see a massive change. You also get a good idea of what sort of textures and depths a colorist can add.

Thanks to BOOM! for this interesting look backstage.

Comments

  1. This book is so good.

  2. Wow. I’m a big fan of a lot of what BOOM! puts out, but those first 3 pages are very amateur looking. No disrespect intended, but the anatomy, perspective, coloring… it’s all pretty rough.

The cover, however, is really strong.
