As of late on Sunday, the total number of downloads across our entire catalog of audio shows passed the five million mark!
Josh, Ron and I started the iFanboy Pick of the Week Podcast in 2005, pretty much on a lark, and we had no idea what we were in for. We had no idea that it would bring a global audience to our website, iFanboy.com. We had no idea that it would help us meet so many great people and make so many good friends. We had no idea that that first audio show would be a major turning point in our lives that would lead to full time jobs in comics media. So many crazy thing have happened to us in the seven years since we started producing our shows but we’re still staggered when we see numbers that reach into the millions.
None of this would be possible without all of you and we will always be eternally grateful for our audience, the iFanbase. So, a big thank you goes out to everyone who has ever listened to our shows! We do it for all you folks with the help of our trusty professional audiologist.
A special thank you goes out for all of you who have sent in e-mails, called and left voicemails, attended any of the live recordings, left iTunes reviews, or have generally gone the extra mile to support us and our shows.

Wow, I’m not sure what that means in terms of listeners per episode but clearly your are reaching a big chunk of the comics audience. Even more impressive is that you’re doing it without being snarky, mean-spirited, loudmouthed or dismissive (for the most part) and this being the internet that is really something.

I remember it like it was yesterday… January 2006… listening to my first comic book podcasts… No need to name names, but it was horrendous. Around Comics redeemed my faith in CBPC’s, then I got into iFanboy. I went through a dark time where I fast-forwarded through the iFanboy podcasts to get to the “good stuff.” Now I just listen to the whole thing, though I do skip the Making Comics podcasts. Talksplode and the movie specials are always welcome.
